I have Adobe Reader 8 installed on my computer. Recently it stopped working. Can I download the latest edition of Adobe or should I delete the Adobe Reader 8 first?

If it's only the reader, you can remove it and install something lighter/update it.
I use Foxit which seems to work better and doesn't take up as much room on the machine.

    Agree. Foxit is markedly better.

... provided you are very careful not to allow it to install unwanted software as well as the Foxit Reader you actually want. :(

SumatraPDF is another contender. Small, light and doesn't install anything you don't want.
