in Water bills
Hi all,
A question about Thames water but may apply to other companies too. They always want the whole amount (whether as 1 lump sum, 2 lumps sums, or 8x monthly sums). We've only paid up to the end of our tenancy (end of June), but now they've written back saying they'll bill us for the whole period unless we pay the outstanding amount (ie the part of the bill for which we won't be in the house)
Does anyone know our legal position?
cheers, surfcat

its just a misunderstanding. set up the direct debit. when you come to move out, cancel the dd, tell the water co. you are going, give them a forwarding address and they will send you the £20 or whatever you have overpaid by.
I am doing the same thing with severn trent.
JErr, I'll get back to you about the funny signature0
