    The older gatso's were not digital, film had to be retrieved from the box. If these are old ones being reactivated, that may be the case with them.

    All Average speed cameras are digital, though.
    I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

    No, it's a new installation, this is what they look like.

    Glad I moved in 1976, few speed cameras in Cornwall just blooming tractors.

    To be clear, the existing yellow housing at the re-activated sites are now fitted with digital cameras.

    Yes think that's what I stated.
  • They will use the old tech for the maximum amount of fleecing. Sorry to hear this.

    Yep the Gatso's are still working in the west midlands with more advanced cameras on the way

    Glad to be in North Yorkshire, no static speed cameras to worry about (although we will soon have 12 camera vans in operation).

    There's a set not far from me, just out of interest do they just read the front number plate or both? (on a bike and assume from the positioning that it is just the front but haven't risked it :A).

    Hopefully both if the standard of driving by motorcyclists in my area goes by. Driving through local village at 30 mph with 30 mph limit and double white lines some toss pot roared past on other side of road without a care in the world, yes you've guessed it on a motor bike.
