To be nice tomorrow as well moomin . Cracking day here in the west as well.
Ali, I know how cool is that? Next will be ASDA card. Decided to get rid of the 2 really small ones first. Might cost me a couple of pence extra but psychologically it'll do me good to see them gone ASAP.I will then concentrate on tesco card and my goal will be to get rid by Christmas. This is doable if I really try hard and ex OH keeps up with the maintenance.
Going to use my card for everything whilst in Edinburgh as I reckon if I have cash in my purse then I will spend it way too easily. I'm getting all excited now. Going down to my friend's after dinner for a wee catch up and then back home to get sorted and get showers etc as early start in the morning.5 Year plan. Home sweet home. Exhausted and £7 over my £150 budget so not too bad. We had an amazing time. The weather was fantastic and everything we visited was superb. PLMBL, comfy shoes are an absolute must. I feel as if I have broken 100 bones in my feet and I had nice comfy flatties on, but reckon I didn't have anywhere near enough support. In saying that we walked everywhere except for 1 bus this morning to the museum and there are hills everywhere. Also a backpack rather than a handbag. Mine was really getting on my wick as lots of the things are hands on and I had quite a big bag as I had my spare clothes in it rather than taking a suitcase as we would have either had to pay left luggage costs or trailed it about with us.
Edinburgh is super expensive for food. I had told DS we were only having sandwiches or hot dogs or something today but I ended up having to hunt out an ATM as none of the sandwich shops near castle took debit cards . Ended up in a cafe in the Grassmarket and was £16 for a burger, baked potato and cheese and 2 soft drinks. Not even chips with burgers. I spent £70 of my budget on food :eek:and that was not including brekkie.
We loved the parliament tour and camera obscura which is a must although quite expensive. Also loved the museum and dynamic earth. We just had a great time TBH. DS was great company (most of the time), hotel was fabulous and we just had a great time. I'm so glad we did it. I am delighted with hotel as I got the price at £79 and walk in price was displayed at £169 :eek:It was nice but jeezo. DS just loved the fact that there was an ice machine in the lobby so we had tonnes of ice in every drink :rotfl:

So glad you had a good time. We've never been to Camera Obscura, might consider it if you thought it was that good?? Thanks for all the tips XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Camera obscura was very hands on and great fun. Only thing I would be concerned about is that there are loads of visually challenging things and I'm not sure how that will go with your hubby. I know he has difficulties and I'm not sure what triggers it so might be worth looking into before going. I love Edinburgh and we have been a good few times but were always rushing trying to fit everything in in one day so to have 2 full days was brilliant.5 Year plan. Good thinking MiT, I hadn't even considered that! I do think DH is non photosensitive, as he's had several tests at the hospital, but I'd rather play it safe. The last thing I want is for him to be ill and the fun has to stop.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Exactly. One of the things, which is great fun, is that you walk through a vortex but you feel as if you are tipping over. My DS was keeping me on it but I had to make him let me off as I thought I was going to be sick. Also it was pretty expensive.
The museum was fab though and lots of things for the boys including dressing up in old fashioned clothing plus making robots and many other things. And completely FREE. DS;s face was initially tripping him and his feet were dragging but once he got his camera out and started taking pics he was much happier- Thankfully5 Year plan. Excellent to hear all about it MiT and so pleased you had a fab time and DS too. :T Well planned and executed.
I'm making notes - DS and I would both love to go to Scotland - preferably before borders and passports are needed - I might see if we can afford a 2-3 night break in the school hols before I have work dotted in every August week :rotfl:
Hope the figures and your budget don't look too dented. You're doing so well this month. :TBack on the DFW Wagon:
