My first ever cheesecake with fresh raspberries/white chocolate ... yum yum, never realised it was so easy and quick to do, quite impressed with myself :rotfl:A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0

Cauliflower quiche. Actually, I set out to make mushroom and spinach quiche but when I opened the bag of spinach it smelt awful! I didn't fancy just mushrooms so I went all inventive .
If anyone's interested, I lightly steamed the cauli first, grated some cheese onto the pastry base, covered with the cauli, scattered a bit more cheese over the top then poured over the egg mixture which was made up of duck eggs (on special in Tesco last week), a tub of on-date ricotta, the dregs of a pot of cream and not quite enough salt :rotfl:. I whipped up a bit of a savoury crumble (flour, butter, seasoning and yet more cheese) and this went on the top after the quiche had been cooking for 10 minutes or so.
It was good but if I make it again, I'll definitely up the seasoning and perhaps try adding a bit of mustard powder.Avoiding plastic, palm oil and Nestlé0 -

I fancy having a go at one of Gordon Ramsay's vegetarian recipes 'Risotto of ceps with spring onions, grated truffle and parmesan.
Realistically the truffle will have to fall by the wayside, I haven't won the lottery . and they are really only used as a garnish when serving.
But I'm a bit confused about what Ramsay means by ceps. I'm taking it that ceps means mushroom but I'm not to sure which type he means. The recipe calls for Sauteed Ceps
250g fresh ceps, cleaned
2 tbsp olive oil
sea salt and black petter
few knobs of butter
What type of mushroom do you think I should use.
Thanks for your input.

Ceps = specialist mushroom probably dried. Best to google. Gordon Ramsey does not make this clear.
Probably have to be soaked for 30 minutes.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I bought one of those giant cupcake tins on Tuesday, so tried it out yesterday and it's gone down well. I've gone off cake (particularly chocolate cake) so I haven't tried it.0

I baked my best loaf to date in the BM following advice from here about adding extra water. It's come out all soft and lovelyIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

Adding milk powder helps to soften loaves as well - though obviously it adds to the cost.
Which reminds me.... must get a loaf started!Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
