Hold on, hold on which disk did you boot from. The one I posted about was 64 bit , not going to find your o/s if you are 32 bit. I am tied to a small i-thing ar the mo and will be moving about a bit again soon.
I,m using the original disc I burnt when changing from Vista to W7. It,s 3 years old.
Not able to do any discs at present, only one pc,which is Kaput:)

You may as well use the disks that you used previously and start a new install then.

I don't see how you will be any worse off than you are now and hopefully will be back to where you were three years ago with a clean system.

Just don't infect it with the likes of Crapport etc.

You don't actually need the key during the installation process and you can worry about getting a key once you have proved that the hardware is OK and then go though the Windows registration procedure.

WIN7 keys are readily available for a couple of pounds online from scrapped machines etc.

It,s not picking up my OS, so clicked on drivers, and it asks me for the file name, and where it is, to open it,to locate?
Computer system, library, recent places etc.
Unless I can tell it which file The OS is in,it cannot repair it.It,s shows hard drive disks 31.2 MB free of 33.6. boot (x)
Removable cd drive (D) 0 bytes free of 2.59GB.
Presume that,s the disk I have in.
Ain,t a clue where set information is?

    Clean install.

Boot with WIN7 disk in drive.
Press any key to boot from disk in drive.
Select language, time, keyboard from dropdown options followed by NEXT.
Click INSTALL NOW on Install screen.

    Lump hammer not required yet!

As much as this thread has been interesting it would have been quicker to have built your own machine from intrusctions on Youtube.
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
