I've just signed up and was wondering how often the writing test becomes available?£20 a day April 2014 £834.87/£600 :j
£20 a day May 2014 £108.45/£6000 -
Extremely rarely I'm afraid. And when it does appear, it is only for a short time.Never Knowingly Understood.

hi,
I am tempted to register myself but it says in their T&C that you need to pay tax, etc as a self employed person when you join. How much do I need to be earning to have to start paying taxes do you know? Anyone would definitely recomment Vivatic or not?
thank you
I wouldn't let that put you off. In theory, you should declare any income from surveys and writing jobs regardless, but then again, few people bother. If we all declared the £120 p/a that we earned, then HMRC would never cope.
If you are actually making a good living from surveys and article writing, then yes, you should then declare it as it would be your main income.Never Knowingly Understood.

I don't think you should be advising people not to declare their income on a public forum. I mean if they get caught they would have fines to pay and people do get caught out. Just Google it. You also need to look at National Insurance, but you can get a small earnings exemption certificate. (just a friendly comment).0 -
I'm sure you only pay tax on wages after you have earnt £5000 p/a
If thats the case, then I don't think you need to if earning £120 p/a
I just signed up, looks good and will keep my eyes open for the writing test when it becomes available.Facing up to my past & debts

As a few of the survey sites pay in points, when you fill-in your self-declaration you need to find-out the nominal cash value (normally 0.001p, but you cannot take this as read).Never Knowingly Understood.

The assumption was that you are already earning over the taxable threshold, therefore *in theory* everything you earn is taxable at at least the basic rate.
Ahhh that would make sense in a sneaky kind of way...that thought never even crossed my mind
Thank you for clearing it upFacing up to my past & debts

Hi everyone
Just a reminder if you start earning you have to declare this to hmrc.
