  • Hi brizzle, all good at footie.:)

Had a letter re Bcard loan, balance is £889, it has been transferred to Westcot. Is this a good move?!?

Yesterday had a little spend at the club after football, small spend in supermarket and got petrol. Still only on 5 NSDs.

Need to do meal plan and shopping list, and update spending diary/budget.

Pegged out yesterday, did an hours worth of ironing.....still got more to do, plus what dries today. Need to catch up on housework this morning, then a little chillax this afternoon.:)

Yes it is - debt agencies are more willing to accept lower payments and full and finals...............
  • Thanks EE, Westcot actually left a message on my works answerphone when I got into work this morning (an automated one), and text me....twice. I've tried to call them when I finished work, held on for 6 mins listening to the automated message then gave up.

I/we have got lots of post to go through, just had a really hectic week. Been helping the oldies, extra hours at work (unpaid but will take the time at some stage), OH doing bits at the sports club.

Managed to peg out yesterday, tonight came home vac'd all round and cleaned bathroom.

Having hair trimmed this weekend, out on Saturday night......should be a cheap night tho!

Still trying really hard to stick with healthy eating plan.:)

Need to pay sports club subs....still.

  • Hi All, I'm back.... Well will try my best anyway.:o We've had a horrible few weeks, major family issues which have made me feel worse than worthless and a failure. The car has broke behind repair, which we have managed to replace this morning but had to borrow money off DS2.

There have been a few other things that although trivial have just added to my stress. I've broken 2 fingers which has been painfully but has just hindered me something rotten. How can 2 broken fingers and a sprained wrist cause so much inconvenience!! I tried to log on here and couldn't remember my password, the the laptop crashed, then to cap it all the iron blew up on Friday......those who know me know I go through an iron a year or so it seems. So I've been feeling very sorry for myself but this morning I've just given myself a firm talking too, and will get back on track.

I've still been pegging out, in fact I've just put a load out now that the rain has stopped, and I've put some throws in so they are all washed and clean to put over us whilst we attempt to leave the heating off for as long as possible.

On the money front, sort off ticking along, still doing battle with Bcard. Not counted NSDs this month. Emergency fund has £52 but think the 20p jar is almost full so there must be £20 odd quid in there.

Have ordered nieces and nephews Christmas presents, its something practical to put the money they are having in.

DS1 needs funds, mega funds not sure how we are going to sort this. But will wait until it becomes critical and then sort. Not burying my head in the sand but there isn't much I can do at the moment.

DS3 has school photo this week, I'm really hoping it's a good one as want to use it as part of a Christmas present.

Think that's all for now. Thank you dawnybabes and brizzle for your posts. I've missed you all.

Welcome back Alice. I've missed you too. So sorry to hear life has not been treating you well and I really hope that your run of bad luck has ended.
You are such a resourceful, determined and caring person so don't you dare entertain the idea that you're not! Far less anything approaching worthless.
I know how worrying it must be to know you have major expenditure coming up without a clear idea of where it's coming from.
On a lighter note you could give up ironing(!) or ask on freecycle for a temporary replacement. For the major sums could you suspend payments to creditors for a month or two? I know you're not with a dmp agency any more but they used to allow that for major expenditure needs.
In any event try not to worry and keep on keeping on.

    Hi Alice,

Sorry your having a hard time of it at the moment. I have just reduced all my creditor payments down to £5 each a month for the next 3 months to save up to pay for dd's uni rent. 5 out of the 9 have put me onto a 6 month payment plan.. tempting.... I will see how it goes. The others are happy to accept what I have offered or haven't responded so got it anyway..!! I just wrote to each and told them that is what I was doing.. I really think you could do with a little break and although it delays the debt free journey, you sound like you could do with a little less stress for awhile.

One rang and they didn't want me to pay anything, most wrote and I did speak to a couple of the dca's as they wanted i & e's and I told them as in my letter I will be redoing it in December to adjust to my new financial circumstances and they were happy with that. Its all about communication. No nasty phone calls or letters, please put yourself and your family first, debts can wait.

    Love Puzz. x
