I can't think of much worse than loose dogs in planes.

I have an bad allergy to dogs so if there was one anywhere near me then I'd spend the whole flight sneezing.

Yes saw this on my last trip to the USA. The lady said her dog travelled everywhere with her in the cabin. He wasn't overly keen to get in its box but she said he always slept through it.

I can think of at least two things that could be worse.

Groups of drunks going off for a hen/stag party or football match,
    &
obnoxious and loud 7/8/9 year olds running up and down the aisles screaming and shouting and knocking into everyone in an aisle seat.
Think I'd prefer that to a dog having a crap next to me in the aisle. Or what happens if the dog needs to relieve itself? Does it queue for the toilet?

A friend of mine brought a cat back from Greece in the cabin. I can't remember which airline it was though.

    Have I missed something.
Are dogs allowed in the passenger cabin these days?

Yep, seen it plenty of times in Scandinavia. Nobody bats an eyelid.
  • Rather have dogs on planes than children!! They are far more well behaved and quieter for a start!

They don't tend to have fleas, worms, or defecate in public though.

So how does that work with quarantine? I'm never knowingly within 10m of a dog due to my allergies so I really have no idea what the procedure is. I'd be amazed if you could fly from the UK to the US with a dog on your lap and just walk through passport control.

Of course there are some countries where a dog on board would just be the inflight catering...

So having a dog at your feet, and the person sat next to you being unable to exit the plane in an emergency due to 'a dog in the way' and duly burning to death or similar, is a good idea?

It makes a mockery of restrictions on hand luggage.

At least that goes in an overhead locker.

    I agree.

    And what about smuggling drugs.
Do dogs have to submit to a body search?
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
