Hi all, were travelling to Australia this week & was wondering whilst we are there if it will be best to pay for goods in Dollars or pounds on our debit & credit cards ? any help greatly appreciated. David

the general rule is to spend in local currency as the card companies will give a better exchange rate than the retailers.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

Which credit/debit cards do you have? Although it's a bit late to apply for new ones, if you are in possession of a Halifax Clarity card, or a Kalixa Pay (prepaid card), it would be best to use these. In any case, pay in local currency as mgdavid mentions.0

ALWAYS pay in the local currency.
