Great news: You can now post links to your debt-free diaries in your signatures! 20th Mar 15 at 1:05 PM
    Hi everyone,

Since it's been 10 years since Debt-Free Wannabes launched, we thought it would be nice to celebrate by allowing links to your fantastic Debt-Free diaries in your signatures.

We've not allowed this previously as we try our hardest to keep the forum free of advertising, but seeing as this is just another section of the forum and it's full of lovely, supportive people we thought it might be nice if you guys shared your diaries and showed off your successes!

So just to clear things up...

    What you can do
    • Include a link to your Debt-free diary in your signature

    What you can't do
    • Post links to any external sites. If you see anyone abusing this, please click the report button as usual
    • Use short links such as bit ly or tiny url
    • Disrupt the flow of a thread by having large text/links

That's it! If you have any questions, or need any help just ask below

If you're not sure how to do it, or it doesn't work use this by SeduLOUs below

    {URL="www.mydebtfreediary.com"}My debt free diary{/URL}

Replace all { and } with [ and ] (I had to use a different bracket otherwise the code would 'work' and you wouldn't see what to type!)

Replace www.mydebtfreediary.com with the link to your thread (keeping the quotation marks)

Replace My debt free diary with whatever text you want to be shown in the signature to be clicked on.

End result in preview/saved mode should look like this:

    My debt free diary

Dave, you need to start your own thread. This thread is actually for discussing signatures (so I don't think anyone much is reading it )
I'm the Board Guide on the Matched Betting; Referrers and Jobseeking & Training boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge posts there. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an illegal or inappropriate post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com (it's not part of my role to deal with this). Any views are mine and not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.com.

I've tried this following the instructions, I get this error message "Unfortunately due to misuse in the past we can't allow links in signatures (live or inactive)"

Is everyone else still getting the error message? Pretty annoyed that there's been no communication from the board guides or officials on this thread seeing as so many people are having problems :/

I'm new and not sure if I'm posting this in the correct place!

My partner has a overdraft with Halifax that sits at £2500dr. It has been like this for several years. He gets paid weekly and transfers his wages straight to his savings account. He's getting nowhere in reducing the overdraft because he is charged £90 per month for the privilege. He reckons Haifax won't help him set up a repayment plan but I'm not convinced. Please can anyone give the best advice on how to get out of this 'catch 22' situation. Thank you 😊
