How terrible!!!!
I would hate to think of my year 6 going to big school in sept needing the loo and not being able to go. I understand the fact that you may not want disruptions but surely it would be more distracting to have to wait.
Sorry but when I need to go I need to go. I am an adult and I can not predict if I will need the loo in the next 2 hours.

You think every time a girl is on their period, they should bring in a note from home excusing them to go to the toilet?
Isn't this a little embarrassing for an 11 year old to have to hand to possibly a male teacher?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Sorry, when did schools become prisons. If that were me in my day I would be like "!!!! you i need the bog, I am going", from about eight.
But of course school is all about conformisam and remembering !!!! these days and not about learning.
You had me with the like prisons. Schools should be a place of education learning, exploring and respecting each other.
BUT you lost me on conforming and remembering. What ????Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

Or perhaps every time they are on their period they could be beaten with a stick! . Honestly a letter from home????? A period is a natural part of life it is not a disability.
p.S omg That report is horrific!!!! Wearing an arm band ????Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

Okay, that's fine for your class. But we are talking about an 11 year old in year 6 and you said for them to bring a note in?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Different age though.
To the OP:
So are you leaving it at that or do you plan to take it further?
And also by a newbie!
Im sure the teacher will know the girl well by now at the end if the school year. She'll have made a judgement on whether the girl,is trying it on or not.
Btw: if she was on her period she could have gone quietly to the teacher and whispered to her. Junior school is rarely staff holding forth and pupils sitting in silence.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Ahhh some real d!jà vu here. There's even the teacher who joined MSE today and is using a full name while she tells us about her policy on no toilet breaks...0

Do you think periods always start at specific times?
Have you never started during the day?0
