I could be totally wrong , but if the o p has an iPad already , why not go over to Apple altogether ? That means you could backup the iPad whenever . A Mac mini is pretty good , though you'll need a monitor and preferably a wreless meyboard . Just a thought0

Wasn't suggesting that you buy from an unknown seller. Just illustrating the basic cost of your machine.
You should expect a 3rd Gen i5 CPU at that price with a bit of searching. But even without that, you can get a reasonably powerful Quad Core CPU and have enough left in the budget for a 120GB solid state drive.
Quick example;
https://www.encore-pc.co.uk/dell-optiplex-960-250gb-4gb
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Newly-Refurbished-Dell-OptiPlex-960-Core2-Quad-Q9550-2-83GHz-250GB-2-x-2GB-/162453262933
Same seller. So eBay is not the issue. Just choose a good seller
So £91.77 inc delivery and £45.59 for SSD; http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/pb/Toshiba-Solid-State-Drive-Q300-120-GB/id=4152475/
Extend the warranty to twelve months for another £25 if you are nervous.
A much better performer. Super-fast because of the combination of good CPU and SSD.
Looking around will likely reveal even better deals. But yours is £50 too much. Really not worth it.0 -

You don't use the SSD to store your data.
In the example of the Optiplex above, you fit the SSD, takes five to ten minutes. Change the Boot drive to the SSD and clean install Windows 7/10 to it. No cost as the licence is still valid.
Then you can move the data over to the 250 GB HDD already installed or simply fit the drive from your old PC and access the data at your leisure.
I think that I have three storage drives in my Optiplex.
Optiplex towers are designed for quick and easy access. Ask AndyPix, he will tell you. Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy. He'll also agree that £150 is too much for your machine.
Easy to guide you through the scenarios.0 -
So in that example, you can choose to boot in to Windows 7 on one drive(SSD) and Windows 10(already installed) on another and install your existing drive too, but just use it for storage.
At £150, you have a lot of options. For instance, you can buy a Tower with the same spec as the one you just purchased, fit an SSD, and a graphics card with HDMI output(can plug into your HD TV for instance), and USB wireless adaptor for WiFi and Bluetooth.
So a much better all round PC. Yours for me is really not worth more than £70. It's just really basic. I stated £100 because of the warranty.0 -

STONE Group have been around a long time. Probably supplying schools etc
Don't buy Small Form Factor. Better a Tower. More versatile and better heat distribution.0
