I just saw this button when I logged into my online banking today. Does this mean they have already begun sending the new VISA debit cards?

^^ as above.
I can't wait to get my shiny new card0 -
From a message from HSBC to me:
"Please note that the new Visa/Master debit cards will only be available towards the end of 2008. The re-issue of cards to existing customers will take place gradually over a period of approximately 18 months.......
I confirm, the new functionality to activate a debit card via Personal Internet Banking was launched in preparation for the introduction of this service early next year. "0 -

Yes but don't forget... all those customers... all those cards in the post... by all means, I'd rather be safe than sorry
I suspect I will get my card around 09/10 as thats when my current one expires.0 -

When I phoned HSBC the guy said don't worry about the "Activate New Card" link as it's part of a new "system" which hasn't actually gone live yet. Seems a bit rubbish to show the link if it doesn't do anything, yet...0
