Pre-Assignment pack - whats this?

Options
I'm chasing my solicitor and EA to try and find out what's happening with regard to my house - how frustrating!!!! My solicitor NEVER takes my calls - I always get put thro to voicemail!!

I've just heard from the EA saying the solicitor is waiting for a pre-assignment pack from the local council!

Can anyone tell me what his is as when I googled it it said its provided to leaseholders when selling their property - my property is a house and Freehold!

Any ideas anyone please?

is the freehold house an ex council property?

a preassignment pack is yes, a pack determining the lease, age of property , any lease issues, including ground rent.

the council will also include the lease variance ( i think thats what its called) which says that the council is of the understanding that the property is being sold to you

Hi lynzpower - no the house is not an ex council - how strange!! The only thing is we pay a ground rent of £1 which I believe is to the management company for the park area behind us and the upkeep of it and the trees in the road?? I'm confused!

THE ONLY THING I can think of is

a)that the EA has got it wrong, that they have confused you with someone else
    b) that your sol has made a grave co-ck up - so stop them, Preassignment packs usually cost 175 upwards, and thats a cost ( and delay) you might have to bear.

I have known of preassignemnet packs taking up to 10 weeks, so call your sol pronto and get them to stop it right now if thats what they have started!!!
