Hi I have had a major LBM I am 38 in 3 months and I seem to be getting no where near a mortgage or even paying my debts off.

Mum £5,750
DWP £420
Over draft £2,000
Friend £300
Total £8,470.00

I have managed to pay off just over £2,000 last year but I should have been debt free but I sort of drifted a bit. One positive I am on day 5 of quitting smoking and it is slowly filtering into my over draft account at £7.70 a day. I have plenty of food in so the weekly shop won't be a lot this month. This time I will stay focused and get this paid off I am pretty sure I can pay this off by the end of the year.
DWP £45/£420 Left £355.00 Mum £1,154.00/ £5,750.00 Left £4,596.00
Over draft £400/£2000 Left £1,600.00 Friend £300/£300 PAID :T
Total £1,919.00/£8470.00 Left £6,551.00 23% Paid
PAYDBX16- #129 £1,919.00/ £8,470.00 23% paid

Good luck to you. Maybe try and break it into manageable chunks so you feel like you are always achieving something which is motivational.

How about signing up for a couple of the challenges too?

I can't sleep so I have made my first payment and the debt can only go down now and it's never going back up again, this time I will clear it so I can get my mortgage and buy this house if I can keep making payments like this I will be debt free in 9 months not a huge amount of time to tighten my belt

Tonight we had bacon and brie risotto and there's enough for tomorrow's dinner too. I still have enough food in the house to see us through to near the end of the month apart from fresh fruit/veg and milk.

I have joined the pay debts off by Christmas and £1 per day for Christmas challenges, just waiting for my numbers.

I have decided once I am debt free I am going to save up £1000 emergency fund before saving for my deposit so I have a buffer.

I went to Tesco last night and got a few bargains:

2 packs of watermelon slices 10p each (DD took them to school for snacks)
    2 packs of beetroot 7p
    1 punnet of grapes 20p
3 swedes 7p (carrot and swede for tomorrow and day after
2 packs of venison mince £2 each
1 Pineapple snack pack (ate for breakfast this morning)
    1 bag of potatoes 5p

Plan for the week is as follows:
Tonight bacon and brie risotto with salad
Wednesday cottage pie with potato, swede and carrot mash
    Thursday left overs
    Friday ham salad
Saturday bangers and mash with peas
    Sunday left over
    Monday Pork stir fry

Puddings will be fruit salads with yoghurt or quark to use all the bits of fruit I have in the house.

Today I had a break through (well for me) DD wanted a new school bag and I told her she would have to buy it herself (I have bought 2 for school this year) and her old one is perfectly fine she's bored of it. I went into town with her and I kept picking things up and thinking I would like them but I ended up putting them all back and eventually I convinced DD she didn't need a new bag either so win win she didn't spend money on a want and neither did I. This is huge for me as I have never come home empty handed the old me would have just bought it and thought to hell with it.

Today will be a NSD working this afternoon and got housework to catch up on, I got 3 whole chickens from Tesco last night for £1.46 each one's in the slow cooker and 2 in the freezer, that's my Sunday dinners for the next 3 weeks sorted out. I always go shopping late at night as I can pick up some great bargains up. Freezers fit to burst again but I am getting through food slowly but surely.

Pay day on Monday and the car has set me back a bit £720 worth of set backs :(

Right I need to sort myself out and get these meal plans done weekly:
    Today Bacon and brie risotto
    Sunday Chicken roast dinner
    Monday Left overs
Tuesday Chicken curry rice and peas
Wednesday Corn beef hash and beans
    Thursday Left overs
Friday Toad in the hole, mixed veg

Food bills are going to be greatly reduced this month i am determined to clear my fridge/freezer and cupboards out once and for all. There will be a good payment going off the debt Monday and i will finally be one debt down. Right off to make some breakfast for me and the pup :)
