Hello all SPCers!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and will follow it through with a great week. Supposed to have been showers all day down here - not one! In fact we've had a lovely day and almost fully dried the washing, where's that darn wind when you need it!! :( To all those of you who are poorly or a bit down for any reason have some {{{hugs}}} to help a little at least, and get well soon. :D

Congratulations on being on MSE for 10 years, jakes-mum! You mean MSE has [STRIKE]suffered[/STRIKE] enjoyed your presence for all that time!! I bet they never bargained on one such as you when you registered!!!! :rotfl: Lucky DH getting some home-made pants!!!!! :rotfl:

£1 potted as per my other MSR challenge.

That's the way to be saving all the way round on MSE, Val, one encourages the other! :j Great work with the roadkill. :D

DH emptied his pockets, Vicky, or you stood them and forced him to??!! I know which I'd prefer to have a vision of! :rotfl:

You're rising on up with your Total, Frugalgurl, fantastic work!!!
£2.00 coin in the pot today :)

this is the pot i'm using, don't think i'll want to break into it :P

Whatever you do - DON'T EVER break into your pot, themstarrynights. not even when it's full!!!!!!
As Selene rightly quotes from my 1st post from the 1st page of every year breaking the pots is ONLY what firms want you to do - so they get more and more money when folk buy them again!!!!!! Well done with the money saved, you're doing so well. :D

(I've remembered that I made a post about six months ago in the old thread, saying I wanted to buy a terramundi but didn't want to break into it, and now here I am asking people not to break theirs :rotfl:)

Have found the purse I lost before Christmas and finally moved all cards etc into my new purse. No more missed points (apart from Tesco because they haven't sent me my Clubcard... twice...) and managed to pot £10.16 into my temporary Quality Street pot :j First pot of the year! :D

Sue-UU, I actually banked my pot twice last year due to my neighbours getting burgled and general anxiety about having lots of cash in my flat. I've lost the building society book and have just found out that their nearest branch is 34 miles away so won't be able to find out exactly how much I have.
    everyone

Excellent words to themstarrynights, Selene!!!! That earns you a gold star to pop on your siggie, they're stars of merit for when folk help others..as you've just done!! :staradmin
BTW. Very wise of you to bank your cash after burglars breaking into your neighbours! Don't worry about the full amout saved, but if you do ever remember or come across the book then it can always be added later, but it's not vital. ;)

More Monday cash saved, 32b3, good work.

Well potted, mrs-moneypenny, and I see what you mean about your DS!

Savings all the way round, Mumof2, keep it up....

    ....you also plumduff55!!!

You're doing so well, carbootcrazy, I reckon this year's SPC will be even better than SC 8!!!!
    Hello Potters,
Ive just caught up on all the posts, really enjoy reading them, they help to keep me motivated..
Have been potting but not counting as really want it to be a surprise.

That's so lovely to read, jacksmummy, keep reading then! ;) It looks as though you've something amazig to set your sights on, keep looking forward and..saving EVERY PENNY!!!!!!! :j

    Many thanks, siju! Good potting.

It's lovely for us all to be encouraging each other, Louise, it helps so much. Brilliant saving and I agree with the cold snap to come!!!!! :j

    Well done, lexbubbles....

.....and you, Dizzy Imp, and thanks so much for your lovely words.

Enjoy a peaceful (or whatever) evening, SPCers. :grinheart Have a GREAT week ahead! Take care of your pots!

Sue youve given me an idea for an extra income for my pot, Dh hasn't been to the barbers in years - we bought some clippers and I do his, so from now on I'm going to ask him to bung £2 in the pot each time I cut his hair.

Really really nice taxi driver today, mil made a mistake and booked her taxi to the hospital too early so sent him away when it arrived and rang for another. Course it was school run time then so none available at short notice, 10 mins after taxi was due, driver I recognised comes takes us to the hospital which is usually a £10-£12 trip and said it was free, all the drivers were booked and he was on a day off as he'd done his quota, but they rang him and said what had happened(mil does have a lot of taxis) and he came in took us but said the reason he hadn't got his sign on the proof was he was doing it as a favour so couldn't/wouldn't charge. He wouldn't even let me give him a tip. Really nice man who will def get a tip next time we have him as an official taxi driver.

I've not potted anything since Friday. Away just now for a family funeral and keeping any bits and bobs I get in my purse.

I'm away next week for a few days trip and have saved up some money for it. There is coins in that pot that I intend to swap with DH for notes before I go and then when away I will be trying only to spend notes. When I get home again all small change will go into the jars and the left overs will be in my sealed pot :)
