    Morning all,

It's been a week since I last posted, life has got in the way. I say life, I mean work. People have returned from annual leave now so it's getting back to normality.

    How are we all?

Nothing major to update on really. How boring. Working 14 hours or so today, needs must.

Short and sweet from me. Have a lovely Thursday all.

Morning ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

More rain, I am not complaining but OH is, he cannot get out to his precious garden. It is supposed to clear, we will see!!

I spent yesterday afternoon layering up and quilting 5 tablemats, I got 2 quilted, spent ages darning the ends in so they do not come undone. 36 ends on each mat!!

Techie sorted OH's computer yesterday, like me his struggled to get the digital reader loaded but did eventually. I have decided to bust the budget and get him a tablet, found a cheapish one on Amazon, it means he does not have to take his lap top to bed to read.......... hopefully it will arrive today.

No plans for the day other than to finish quilting the rest of the mats and darn the end in, then I need to make yards of binding.......

Fritatta and salad for supper tonight.

    Morning all,

    It's raining.

Silver-oldie it must be compulsory to be selfish in one's old age. I'm beginning to think that anyway.

Hester So sorry to hear of the demise of your daughter's dog. Run free little one.

Talking about run free....mine did, twice in the early hours. I just got settled and hubby put his arm over me at 4am. I knew what was coming so he got yelled at for waking me up again.

    Did I mention it's raining?

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

Good afternoon everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

It is the first day of the kid's summer break here and of course it's pouring (and quite chilly):(.

I'm having a quiet day today as recovering from my balance session with the specialist yesterday so feeling somewhat unsteady and wiped out (think fun fair rides but without the "fun" aspect ), so a good excuse to catch up on some admin for the voluntary group I support:).

Given the weather I think a comforting pasta dish may well be in order for dinner tonight:D.

I hope everyone has a good day x

    Hi
Just a quick one as I'm feeling tres rough. Went to bed at 8pm last night, shivering and wearing 4 layers. It feels like I have a type of flu. Didn't get up till midday and I am now parked on the sofa under a duvet, still with my PJ's on. I feel wrung out like an old dishcloth.
DH has cleaned the kitchen and will have to get his own tea, I will have some tomato soup if I feel up to it.
    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all,

Very overcast here today, no rain yet.....we might get away with that today.

Expensive day yesterday, had to replace 3 tyres on the car.....€180, ouch!

Hester....sorry to hear about DDs dog, very upsetting.

We are having fish, veg and maybe chips for dinner. Bought some local strawberries while in town, will have them with cream as pudding.

We had breakfast rolls and tea after OHs hospital visit this morn ing, went to see DD4 and family afterwards, the girls are so cute, but full time work as they are into everything.

Going to wait until Tuesday to get a new phone, will be accompanied by DGS 2 and DGD2.....not sure thats a good idea as money means nothing to them and they will no doubt be pushing for the most hi tech phone available!

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon folks

Work day here but nice early finish.

nannywindow get well soon but make sure you enjoy your duvet time too. Tomato soup is always my "go to" when feeling grim too.

Speky work is no excuse for neglecting your ladies for a week you know :rotfl: Hows the lovely new flat of yours?

silver-oldie how selfish of her....I hope you can find somewhere really expensive for your meal/afternoon tea

HH sorry about your doggy news:( ....they are just as much part of a family as a human and often much more pleasant.

Quiet couple of days for me and motivation levels are seriously low :( could do with a very large rocket up my backside at the moment as there is lots I could be doing but I have no interest

Didn't help when the funeral directors sent a book of poems to me that arrived today called Loved and Lost ....mmm thanks for that back to feeling like cr*p again. Nice thought I guess though :)

If the sun would come out I think I would feel better but grey at the moment....Im moving in with my ma JackieO its always sunny in Kent

Enjoy the rest of your day and evening everyone

Nels its a bit nippy at the moment, it was quite nice first thing ,now the clouds are getting thicker and its quite dark so we maybe in for a drop of the wet stuff.

Its true we do have warmer summers in the south, but the downside is we get quite a lot of extremely dry weather and I am a fresh air fan, so when its hot and humid I am looking for a drop of rain to freshen the air (no pleasing some folk is there.

I like it at aound 18-19c with a slight breeze and overnight rain to freshen the land up :):):) (don't want much do I :))

Well I had to spend half the morning on the phone trying to get through to various departments about my change of car number plate. I have an exemption for the Dartford Tunnel, and like all government, and large corporations its press this button then press that one next and it takes forever to get through to an actual human being Grr.

But eventually everything got sorted and I have just done my six month budget accounts from Jan -June and happily its come in at less then the previous July-December budget by around £60 odd :):):) actually had six months food budget of £60 per month =£360.00 came in at a tad over £299.odd so I am pleased that my Love Food Hate waste seems to be paying off.

The residue from each month has been swept into my holiday accounts, so extra Happy Cash for the holidays :):):) win-win I think :). And I sent a cheque to the Trussell trust at Easter with my saved Lent money as well .:):):)

So new 6 month budget starts on Saturday 1st July hopefully if I keep on track and food prices don't rocket too much ,using up what I have before buying more in will again bring me in under budget

I had a result from Virgin yesterday as well and got a reduction in my Virgin bundle for the next year as well. All working out OK so far, EDF are fixed at a reasonable price as well I am combing through the accounts with an eagle eye and cutting bits where I can:):):)

    Have a good afternoon chums

    JackieO xx

Sadly my Mother has always been this way. I'm sure she just wanted to come so she could be the centre of attention. She would tell everyone how old she is, tell everyone she HAS to pay, and put me down.

Sorry, I may seem unkind but she is not coming and I don't want her money.
I'm not one for posh places, I would be just as happy with a picnic. All that is really important to me is DH is happy .:)
