Oh gosh - does acquiring boxes for packing count as re-cluttering? Probably. Sigh. :rotfl:

Going to try and make a point of checking in here more than once/month. :o Seems like very little excitement is going on financially (and not much room/time/energy for doing extra little bits there), and there's not much else to report life-wise at the moment.

DH got paid for unused holiday from 2016-17, so that's an extra £1k to the mortgage. Might be able to squeak another £100+ in there by the end of the month. :)

MIL may move to Ireland as well at some point...she was quite surprised at DH's comments about how tricky things may get post-Brexit, and I have a feeling she would like it there anyway, plus we can provide more support for her financially/lifestyle-wise. We're fine either way, just another thing to consider.

Not much to report from the last week, really. Work's busy, but officially passed probation so that's good. Also confirmed with work the Ireland plans so we can book a trip in June to house-hunt and then plan to move either late July or early August.

Estate agent's come to take photos of the house to go onto social media, the plan is to do an open house/arrange all the viewings for whenever we're in Ireland as the house will be empty and the dogs will be away. Fingers crossed it's easy to get a tenant in and go from there. :)

Super close to £105k on the mortgage...should be on track to break through that this month. :D

Finally making progress on the house. Almost ready to finish the hardwood floors, which would be good - even just freshening up the paint in the staircase areas makes everything look so clean and fancy.

Estate agent came by to take photos of our house and put it online to start generating interest. Apparently our house is quite nice (or rentals are hard to find) because within days we had 3 families wanting a viewing. 2 of those 3 ended up offering to rent :), one of them even raised their offer to above the asking price. Unfortunately the other family is a better fit on paper, though we did feel bad about not choosing the first family as they have pets and we know how hard it is to rent with animals.

Future tenants are happy with the house as a 2-bed with the extra-large lounge, so that saves us the hassle of re-instating the bedroom wall until these tenants move out and/or we sell.
