    just bought a Ford Escort '97 and 'visteon 6000cd rds e-on radio' not working, got it out and has the serial code M698422 on it, if anyone can help Thanks!

    I have a ford 6000cd in My focus yet when i press 6 and 1 to get the serial it says:

    mgpdjs 4-06 05 08 02

    Is that the serial number? Tried taking the unit out using cheap ebay removal tools and it feels stuck!

    Can anybody help me please. We have a Ford Puma V reg with a 600 CD/radio player in the car.
    My husband tried to put a code in and failed a few times, now it won't work at all.
    In the Ford manual it says it should say locked but it doesn't so do we need to take it to a Ford garage to get unlocked?
