I love reading the diaries of people with similar amounts of debt to me, even though you are clearly managing your money much better then me, which is why you are making such fantastic inroads. Keep giving me inspiration

Lunch break from work so will jot down my spending from today :)

£3.54 on food shopping (my grocery order online was delivered, paid most of it with gift cards and vouchers I already had :j )
    £3.00 on basketball club
£8.20 on a 3DS game (one of the kids wanted a new game, actual cost was £25.20 but they gave me £17 cash towards it, I'll probably forget the £8 they owe me in the end :) )

Total spend for the day = £14.74

    That's it :j cheap day :D
Better eat my dinner and get back to work :(

Morning all, thanx for reading :)
Bubbs, I know you will help keep me on the straight and narrow :j
Banwa, I know what you mean, I find myself sitting looking through the diaries for ones similar to our situation, I love reading the stories where people have turned their debt mountain around :j

I forgot I haven't mentioned my squares on here :D
I found some squared paper my kids use for maths homework and I use it to make myself targets to hit, I colour in a square for every £10 cleared off our debts, so far I've coloured in 2 whole pictures and am now on my third :j

Right, better jot down those pesky spends from today.
Been a bit of an expensive one :(

£68.58 on laminate (for the hallway)
    £4.50 on dancing
£26.10 on anti-virus (5 user licence, will get some of this money back off the person I'm sharing the licence with)
£6.89 on food (bread, fizzy pop, cake bars)
    £3.94 on ciggys

Total spend for the day = £110.01

Overall It looks worse but when it's broken down it's not so bad.
The anti virus is 4 licences for us and 1 for someone else so I probably get a fiver back for that :)
The overall cost of the laminate may come down, we've bought the same style as we used in one room already (we had one pack of that left over and couldn't take it back for a refund) so hopefully the hallway shouldn't cost a massive amount to finish (I did allow us a £200 budget for the kitchen and hallway so it's on target so far :j )

On the plus side we took a load of old DVDs in for trade in so now the kids have some new games to play for free :j
The house is so peaceful tonight :rotfl:

    Hello diary :)
I'm currently laying in bed (next to a snoring DH :rotfl: ) can't sleep, think money worries are niggling again :(
I know there's light at the end of the tunnel. We can do this :)

Meal plan is going fine so far (needs a bit of tweaking, I forgot Saturday and Sunday lunches, oops! )
Plan for tomorrow, finish painting the small bedroom, hopefully gloss all woodwork in our bedroom, do the washing up (normally gets left for DH when he gets home) do at least one run of washing, pack away all the boxes stacked up for the loft, vacuum top to bottom, clean bathroom and toilet.
Double check how much money is left until payday :)

Feel much better now I've got that off my chest, should be able to sleep now :) just gonna poke DH until he stops snoring :rotfl:
    Night diary :)

    Hello diary :)
Well I'm working my way through my late night list (I think I may have been a wee bit optomistic! )
    [STRIKE]Washing up[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE] Rather proud of myself, third wash is just running through the machine :j
    [STRIKE]Clean toilet[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Vacuum top to bottom[/STRIKE] Lounge still needs doing, kids can do that later as it's cluttered with all their toys :D
    [STRIKE]Clean bathroom[/STRIKE]

    Still to do

    Painting small room
    Glossing woodwork
    Pack boxes

    Other things to do today.

    Meal plan for next week
Work out remaining money till payday

  • Hi dipdap, well done on getting through your list - my motivation is goodness knows where today, I think all the rain we are having has washed it away!!

I do love a list though, I have done one for October so we'll see how much of it I actually get done.

Keep up the good work and the motivation!!

    Hi Mrs S :)
I know most of my list was completely unrelated to being debt free, but I do like being occupied, it stops me from spending money :D
My meal plans gone a bit wrong today, I forgot to buy the buns for the burgers so we've had tomorrow's curry today and I'll do burgers tomorrow instead :D
Did my figures and worked out after all direct debits, dancing, basketball and ciggys we have £600 till payday. This has to cover fuel, groceries, the kitchen flooring (think that's about £150) and anything else that may crop up I haven't accounted for. I'm hoping there's a couple of hundred spare by payday as I'd love to lop more off the card but rare probably won't be :(

Awwwww you're still checking up on me Bubbs :)
Right spending for the day is as follows :)

    £42.01 on fuel
£11.97 on chipped bark for the back garden
    £6.64 on food

Total spend for the day = £60.62

Expensive days like this one really hurt :(
    Fuel should last a week
The bark is the last thing we need for the garden, it's to go on the path around the slabs we have laid already, then after a quick weed of the veggie patch and fitting the new hinges to the gate my garden will be finished :j
Food shopping consisted of bread, milk, sliced meat, cereal and burger buns for tomorrow. The kids always seem to go through cereal super fast when I have it in the house, you can guarantee one runs out before the end of the week

Better get my bum to bed, I have a day of painting tomorrow. Need to do the jobs I didn't do today :o
