Pay discrepancy

I'm a teacher on point 5 of the teacher pay scale. I've just noticed on my pay slip that my pay doesn't relate to anything on the pay scale and is about £1000 less that point 5. This is all before stoppages. Can anyone shed any light on why this might be?

No one can answer that, you'd need to speak to your payroll department. Are there any deductions listed on your payslip?

One obvious question, do you work full-time?

Would you be on point 4 with extra responsibility points?
Are you looking at this academic year's payscale and not last year's?

As before, the easiest way to find out is via your payroll dept. Without seeing your payslip, no teacher or ex teacher can give you an accurate answer

Could the discrepancy be to do with pension contributions...?

Who is your employer? Not the name but the type. Is it an academy?
