Just a thought. How frequently would folks repeat vegetables? If you only have each once a week, that's 70 different veggies! I could so easily have onion, mushroom and tomatoes every day though, that probably isn't ideal either...

Since cost is important to me, low budget, I only buy cheap in season stuff or frozen so probably repeat the same over and over again.

I like to buy the 1kg pack of frozen carrot, brocoli and cauliflower and split it into four, each pack gives me 3 of my 5 day for 25p, if I then serve with mashed swede and carrot, that's my 5 in one go at reasonable cost. I then just add a portion of any meat I have,

For me today it will be:
Egg and tomatoes for breakfast -1
Lunch dips and vegetables - zatkziki - cucumber 1 hummus (does that count)
    Carrot, artichoke, pepper - 3
    Plum crumble 1
Dinner will be spaghetti with onions, broccoli, mushrooms and cashews.
Not sure if the chickpeas and cashews count.
Will also have a banana and a blood orange. About 11 for me I think.

I'm up to four, but no room for more food today.

    Breakfast egg/soldiers, so 0 there.
Emptying freezer I had some fruit juice I'd frozen after Xmas, so 1 there.
Pie for lunch, finished off broccoli/cauli from the freezer and the last of some fresh carrots I'd bought. Had to give up spuds to fit that lot in. So 3 there.

    4/10.

    Full-o-food now, need a snooze.

EDIT: Had beans on toast later ... so that's another 1.

    5/10. That'll do. :)

I can do 10 a day easily but not sure that my portion sizes would be enough, don't have scales taught to cook by granny who thought scales were for wimps.

I always have two pieces of fruit for breakfast and a glass of juice, mid morning I might have a persimmon or apple or banana. Veg soup for lunch. Spicy pasta is a favourite if I have a lot of veg to use up, onions, peppers, chick peas, celery, a potato, carrots and cooked in a tin of chopped tomatoes with some cayenne pepper add some pasta and it is cheap and tasty and lots of veg, a side salad is nice with it as well. Usually have a piece of fruit for afters.

Sundays are probably my worst day as we always have a roast dinner so only 3 veg with that and might have a fry up for breakfast. Does tomato and mushrooms redeem me on that one?

Mind you it doesn't seem to be making me very healthy at the moment.

B4lls... just had my tea - and intended to toss some peas into the rice part...but forgot until I spotted this thread...and it's too late now as I've already eaten my tea! I refuse to sit here and eat a mug of peas just to have them :)

You can put me down for two today:
    - a banana
    - half a tin of baked beans.

I had egg/toast for breakfast; a random banana scoffed; beans/toast for lunch; curry/rice for tea.

I quite like munching on peas :)

Popped into a Farmfoods and picked up frozen veg - 4 bags for £3. They have loads of different types in various sized bags so hopefully they'll be fine. Aldi have all fruit in the super six deal so I'll go there tomorrow. I also bought some nice bits from markies :o not very moneysaving I know..

Blueberries, kiwi and mango with yoghurt for breakfast.
Baby toms, celery and pepper sticks to snack on
Hard boiled egg salad for lunch
Meatballs in tomato, mushroom and pepper sauce which I'll have with cabbage and broccoli, hubby will have pasta.
    Orange for later too.

I didn't weigh everything so not sure if I've done 10 or what but I've really enjoyed it.

Off to try this frozen veg for soup.
