  • I've been a regular lurker around MSE for a while now but I really wanted to say a huge thankyou to Woody and everyone who has shared information on this thread.
Without this I never would have known I could make a claim. I too was caught in the payday loan trap a few years ago and have really struggled to get myself put straight financially.
Yesterday I received £3k from Wonga which is fees and interest plus stat intererest on three loans and have just had an offer from PDUK of just over £6k. I am absolutely thrilled.
PDUK were extremely unhelpful to begin with and refused to send my information regarding the loans I had with them. I was about to refer them to the FOS as they had breached the 8 week deadline. Taking advice from this thread I mentioned the £550 fee charged by the FOS and they returned with all info and an offer the very next day.
Has anyone received a refund from PDUK? I'm just wondering how long they take to pay?

Was talking to a friend about reclaiming and he was asking how it works if the loan was taken out but wasn't paid back due to him being unable to pay it back?

Has anyone had any results for loans over 6 years ?

Bit of a different situation here,

I took a MyJar/Txt loan out on 1st June 2012 for £100 out of desperation

At that time my credit report showed,

£4500 Barclayloan a month in arrears
£5700 Barclayloan a month in arrears
    £37 Overdue payment on Quickquid
    2 Wonga loans showing also

-£311 overdrawn on my current account that only had a £200 overdraft

I've never been able to pay the MyJar back and amount is now £218.

Would this be classed as irresponsible lending even though the loan wasn't paid back?

Further update on mine (8 week deadline 10th October)

Wonga - have confirmed they're paying out in the next 14 working days.

Wage Day Advance - weird email from them today. In my initial complaint I used the 'I only found out I could make this complaint in August 17' line from the DC template as some of my loans are over 6 years old. WDA wanted to know how it was only in Aug 2017 that I made the complaint and not earlier....I asked why this was relevant and they said it was because some of my loans were over 6 years old and therefore 'statute barred' so they needed to know. I've replied to them saying that I was reviewing my finances this year and someone told me I could make a complaint. Not heard back from them since this morning. The emails are from an individual member of staff at WDA and not the generic 'complaints' address so looks like a decision could be imminent.

Sunny - straight up rejection, brief email - 'checks were done at account opening/info we had accounted for defaults on the credit file' etc - totally ignoring that my complaint was about the numerous reloans/rollovers that they authorised. Hilariously the email says that they have just made the decision to not offer any further credit to me - I've been on a reduced payment plan due to hardship with them for 6 months and it's only now that they've decided I'm not further credit worthy?!? If that's not an indication of irresponsible lending I don't know what is....

Sunny have been by far the least helpful and most obstructive, they are the only ones that haven't provided my lending history despite me asking for it 3 times (not even acknowledged).

I've replied to them asking them to actually address the points I've raised and saying I will be going to the FOS.

Expecting and offer from WDA but looks like could be going the distance with Sunny

Mine is QQ but is over six years old. I did send to FOS but last time i contacted them they said there was no news. Think I might give them a call for an update.
    Go get it!
  • Just to let you guys know that the ombudsman has reviewed my complaint for 247moneybox and agrees with the adjudicator that they should refund interest on most of my loans. They didn't even bother to respond to the adjudicator so if you are in this position don't give up.

Only Wonga to go now :-)

I received an email yesterday from 247 moneybox which was pretty damning of the fact I had used a template to write to them, I have responded with an outline case as the ombudsman would see it and attached bank statements. I will keep you posted of any further update on this.
I've also received an offer from Peachy for the interest on loans ~1&2 with them which amount to £66.67, I have counter offered loans 2,3 & 4 interest which amounts £280.67 so I will see what they come back with ;)

Got word back from Ferratum today. Rejected the claim of irresponsible lending however refunded me back £100 goodwill.

My total interest was only about £160.00 and most of the loans weren't actually unaffordable.

Something I never thought id see but happy days.

Oh and Wonga confirmed they would remove everything from my credit file too

Im in a similar posistion with myjar, they have contacted me today with an offer of £84 for interest on my 6 loans but only for loans 4,5,6. However ive a outstanding balance with them and they will put this against it and leave me with £300 to pay to the debt collectors. I dont feel this is acceptable and woould love them to wipe the debt and be done. Any advice?
