It depends who you are asking and for how much.
If it's for £1k and you say it's to buy a new ferrari they won't be fooled.0 -
The best reason is the honest reason.
If that doesn't meet the criteria then so be it.
Lie on the application - get found out - and they will give you £0 and a CIFAS marker (the CIFAS marker will last longer than the money too)

When I worked in the loans department of a bank examples like deposit for house or divorce and paying wife off were standard declines regardless of inhouse credit scoring.
Say car, home improvements.... I have never known a bank ring up or write out say 2 weeks after loan paid out to ask for proof what monies spent on.0 -
