    Two big fails today :(

Had a bad morning so it was a full fried breakfast at work £1.50 then dinner chicken curry £2 and I had a latte and mocha 25p each = total £4 must try harder tomorrow no coffees and a smaller breakfast. Will update spend at the end of the week.

My top up shop came to £15

I am hoping that as the month goes on I will need less and less on the weekly shop as I will be eating more left overs from the previous weeks.

I am not over keen on soup but will give this a try, thanks. Its my kind of recipe, simple ingredients and simple instructions. Do you have the book? Do all the recipes use ingredients you have actually heard of/can source easily and are simple to make (thats my criteria before I attempt a new dish)
You can put 'bread and courgette soup' into Google and you'll get the recipe (plus a few others and some links) HTH :D

Now on 5 NSDs for the month :j

Hope you all keeping warm and have a great Tuesday

Few more spends to report from me - taking me to £37.16 for week 2. There is a lot of stock of pasta in there :rotfl: and I'll end up with some stuff to carry over to week 3 so I'm not worried even though this is again over my weekly ideal of £33 this month. All covered from "week 5" though so still projected to come in on budget.

Oh dear, seems a lot of us - me included - are going over our planned budgets early in the month! :(

Week 1 saw a Friday spend of £52.37 - £20.70 in the market and £31.67 in Sainsbobs, with DH spending another 75p yesterday at the C!op for onions. He couldn't remember if we had any or not (we did :D ).

So, spends to date of £53.12 when it should be £40 or under. :o Not going to be discouraged though and will claw it back over the next 3 weeks.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.

Total spend of £15.11 since last post.
    OH spent £10.39.
    I have spent £4.72.

Like a lot of others we are going to have to reign in the spending. Though I'm guessing others also right now have loads of days that can easily be covered by what they have in.

Breakfast is sorted for the week.
I'll be doing ratatouille in my multi cooker soon, enough for three or four days.

    Bulk - £28.45/£30.
    OH - £21.94/£50. £28.06 left.
    Me - £15.41/£30. £14.59 left.

    Total budget
    £65.80/£110.
    £44.20 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

It's the end of the first week for me and I'm not doing too badly after the disaster that was October!

I've spent £49.88 so far but I have hopefully around 8-9 dinners ready to make in a big batch cook tomorrow, tonight's dinner is sorted already and there's at least 3 lunches in the fridge.

That spend represents *everything* I've spent for the past week (except rent and bills) - we'd run out of quite a few household things, fabric softener, hand soap etc, and have also managed to buy a couple of xmas presents out of it, plus some small decoration-making materials (from which I reckon I'll be able to make 40 or so tree ornaments and a couple of presents!) and some other bits and pieces we'd run out of (sellotape!) so I'm fairly happy with my spend.
Only 2 NSDs this week though but the shops are shut here tomorrow so that should help :rotfl:

I had a better day today

fresh fruit salad for breakfast 50p and a lovely dish for dinner £2 not sure what is was but it was very nice and lots of it, so much that I didn't want much tea so what was to be tonights tea can be saved for next week. Also no drinks purchased at work, pleased with myself for that.

Ah, well done, sounds like you are making good progress to new habits!

I spent £4.65 today - on a bag of easy peelers and a punnet of mango (which I didn't end up eating so have as a treat for tomorrow) - seriously, the M&S easy peelers are the BEST I have tasted in YEARS! Seriously recommend spending the extra money as they were delicious!

    Hello,
I am a bit late joining in this month. I have had rethink about the way I organise my budgets so please put me down for £80. This includes food prepared at home (most meals), take aways (rare) and the occasional coffee shop treat. It also includes laundry and cleaning products. I have taken out the cat food and cat litter as I have decided to order these in bulk when there is a coupon offer so that it is brought up the one flight of stairs to my flat. I estimate it will cost about £40/month. Off back to October now to update there. :p

£2.10 spent today to complete my Week 2 - a 4 pack of tinned tomatoes and a pack of basil for dinner tonight. I'm doing my favourite pasta sauce for me and mum for girls night - it's got mushrooms and red lentils and (obviously) basil, and lots of good flavours! I only need to adapt it slightly to be SW friendly. I'm doing it over pasta mixed with spiralised courgettes and perhaps carrot - I'm on track for a decent weight loss this week and don't want to jeopardise that a day before weigh in!
