Best savings account.

Hello! I have never been interested in money because I've never had any. Things have changed a little in that my father has left me a large sum (it's large to me, but might seem like chickenfeed to others!) and I frankly don't know what to do with it. I don't want to invest it in anything as I don't trust anything like that. I would like to put the money into a savings account that will give me the best interest. I already have an ISA alongside my current account but the interest is about 1%. Is there something very safe that will make the money work for me? I've looked at various 'products' and they all seem designed to confuse anyone who isn't an economist.
I hope someone might be able to suggest something that they can recommend with confidence. I have already paid off my mortgage as I took this as a priority.
Thank you.

It all depends on how much money.
For a few thousand, £2k up to £20k, there are plenty of current accounts that offer much better interest than a 'savings' account.
So that might be a good line to go down.
But it all depends on the sum you need to save.0 -
