My sister is a little older than me and was a decade in front of me at school...she learnt sewing and cooking (or home ec)as it used to be called as standard....but by the time I was a similar age in the late 70's early 80's that had all but disappeared...we learnt computer studies on the new fangled BBC computers and played the atari tennis game with the square pixel as a ball!

I guess whichever way you look at it there have been some good advances in technology and opportunity but sometimes its the simple things from childhood that you remember and not everyone is able to pass those things on to future generations.

I did home economics and needlework and i left school 84.........bloody hell years ago:rotfl:never did computers dont even remember them we had typing, i hated it:rotfl:

my CC statement also leaves me puzzled. I can pick out the few big spends eg petrol, coal, a bill, twine, eating out, etc but that leaves everything else.
last month was a case in point a few big items came to about £300 and then 2 pages of items all small value under £20 but in total it came to over £700

so from that I've figured I need to make menus and shopping lists, go to Aldi on a Monday and get 90% of what we need for the week including whats in the freezer and stockpiled and then not go again until we run out of milk, bread and fruit - every time I pop in and out a few extra bits go in the trolley and then we nip to Morrisons as it's only across the road or go home via Sainsbobs where a few non list items go in the trolley - and it does add up over a month ...

and when the credit card bill is huge there is less to go in the savings pot so it's all about strategy and thinking long term
I dont have a credit card:o i would be:eek: if i got that at the end of the month

our high school had a sewing room and the department was run by Mrs Harrison and it was a lovely cosy place to be - possibly woodwork and metal work would have been more practical skills to learn but we never had the choice.
We did metal work and woodwork until the 3rd yr then either chose it or dropped it, i liked it but dropped it and did needlework and home ec

    Afternoon Peeps.

British Gas have just emailed me offering a £10 off £30 spend code for Dunelm, bit random.

It jogged my memory that I need to look into changing energy suppliers!

I think the price graph on the M side of msm for this item (which I have mentioned recently) is a load of rubbish.

Kiwi Shoe Passion Ball of Foot Gel Cushion

    Store_8.15px.png
    £1.98 £1.98 / Pair

    • Store_1.15px.png
      £3.70
    • Store_2.15px.png
      £3.70
    • Store_7.15px.png
      £3.70
    • Store_3.15px.png
      £3.80
It shows the item as being constantly £3.70 for the last 12 months until the last week, when it has gone down to £1.98.

I think this has only just appeared online, as a result of appearing (maybe) instore in M Leamington in the past week and they've taken £3.70 as constant price as it has been £3.70 in most other places during its absence, prior to now, from msm for M.

I think that it has been constant £1.98 RTC in M ever since I saw it early this year, in a single M and haven't seen it (or any indication of it) since. I reckon it's never gone off RTC since that began (whenever that might have been). I would not be trying it for the APG though, unless you want a fail, as I suspect Leamington is one of the few places with it and the collectors aren't in Leamington (we've seen items that are online before not comparing), unless of course I am totally mistaken about where m.com's items are coming from.

Actually, I was going to add 'm'com's prices are coming from' as well, but m.com doesn't always reflect instore prices. Not because online prices are different from instore, although they may be on a small number of items from time to time (such as online exclusive offers), but because m.com sometimes is not updated and prices instore change. At this point I'll mention a few differences: Ambrosia Devon Dream (260ml) may be 50p but is showing 87p online, M Evaporated Milk is probably() 50p but m.com says 60p, Strawberries 700g are showing £2.94 online (and have been for a few weeks) but I think they are £2.46 (same as it seems they were last week - if not, both me and the APG have been thinking they are £2.46:rotfl:). McCains Mediterranean Wedges are showing £1 until 14th August, but I had them as £1.97 (or maybe they are £1:rotfl:). And goodness knows about the Cow & Gate steamed meals for now:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. (They're 'probably' £1 even though my stores have full price SELs.)

    I don't really know do I? "May be", "I think", "probably"...:rotfl::rotfl:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1QYx2E222Y

    No idea! Pass:rotfl:.

You might try the Kiwi Ball of Foot Passion if, for some reason, you want an APG fail - although it'll be your luck if they have it in seemingly one of the few Ms that has it in a price collection store:(:rotfl:.
