    First Post
I was talking to my best friend the other night about my epilepsy (started after i almost choked on my pills whilst taking them!!!)

and we (after about half an hours diliberation!) decided that every child in school should spend 1 day per year not doing lessons but doing a days training with st. john's ambulance.

We're both trained first aiders and it's been invaluable.

    JD

This is a really good idea. What about making emergency first aid (lower and easier level) part of the curriculum? What about making it part of EVERY NVQ qualification?

This would surely not be too expensive once qualified aiders are available to monitor the training?

It needs an equivalent to a Jamie Oliver figure with the right common touch to raise awareness of this matter. How about Martin Lewis using his contacts to help lobby for this?

Anyone want to start the ball rolling?-it would be easy to get all of the MSE members to sign up to this surely?
:o Keep trying.........................what else is there to do? :o

Brilliant post, probably the best i have seen since looking for freebies.

Im Epileptic and have been looking for something like this rather that having to pay nearly £40 to get a warning necklace.

    Thanks so much
  • just ordered some to give out at play group, and they be good for us door staff to keep on us incase we have to deal with such people.

    great find thanks.
  • This is a great idea. :T My husband has epilepsy and I worry a great deal when he's out and about, especially when he is looking after our 3 year old. You can also order a free card for your children to carry for members of the family who have epilepsy, so ideal for our kids to have...just in case.

Link no longer working. I don't think they now offer these ID cards.

However you can get medical Id braclets which can look good and state that you have epilepsy.

You can google it to find the cheapest.
