Default - Question...

Hi

I'm currently on a DMP for about 4 years now and some of the debts are settled.

I can understand being defaulted as some of the creditors did around the same time I started my DMP which was 2010. BUT.. There is ONE creditor (Natwest) that defaulted me in 2013? This is 3 years way into the DMP and as far as I know they accepted my offer of monthly payment back in 2010. Why would they do this in 2013?

Could I dispute this? Its probably nigh impossible to change the date and the irony is the status is now settled.. :(

Yes you can dispute it and some people successfully have.

Argue that they have treated you unfairly and not in accordance with the ICO guidelines on filing defaults that were in place at the time. These said that normally a default should be applied within 6 months of getting behind with repayments.

Definitely worth a shot to get it backdated.
