    5. £3 luncheon vouchers arrived in the post today from a recent survey. Also got 50 clubcard points for reviewing a product and am expecting another two products to trail one of which is a very expensive electric toothbrush:j

Hugs to all who need them

Mine is charging as I type... :D

I have the world's worst record with leccy and battery toothbrushes so was delighted to get this. Mr T replaced 2 leccy ones for me inside a month, none last longer than a year, and the current one is sulky at times.
I'd also forgotten to get toothpaste and was using the free samples stashed for travels, so an enclosed 75ml tube with the brush was a bonus!

    Hugs to all those poorly.

    1. Good music night at the Club.

    2. Being so thankful I replaced the back tyres on the trike with heavy duty BMX style ones that grip in slippy conditions.

    3. With losing weight my feet have slimmed (less fluid retained) and my walking boots, so suitable for snow and ice now fit me well. They also support my ankle well - I've developed a gait typical of cerebral palsy (I've got a mild form) in recent years, the arthritis masks it, but the boots really help.

    4. Getting all I needed from Ald!, some little treats, but not so many as to wreck sensible eating.

    5. Sister is recovering from bronchitis well. Praise be. I was getting worried. She had TB as a child, had part of a lung removed, and has had breast cancer too. When she was not responding to antibiotics there was a niggle of worry that wouldn't shift. We lost our Dad to lung cancer and my Dad in law too.

    6. Freebies as above.

    7. Online work has been a bit busier, which is very good.

    8. Your pleasures. Thank you all ...

    Good evening all !

VJsmum- maybe your son could help you with the pie lettering ! Large pie, small cutter of course :D When I was (rarely) at school , I was only "good" on paper at the stuff I was vaguely interested in - is your DS the same ??

Mcculloch - how is Rummy ? Is he "sound" yet?

CCP - did you get any of Sparrers white stuff ??

OT - eh?? Do your hens mind the snow?

Missmoneysave- welcome back! Baby steps and all xx sorry to hear about your relative .

    6 for today

    1. No snow - GOOD !not a fan , don't want to fall or drive in it.

    2. I have got the leave that I requested over Xmas - so only 8 more of my working days to go .

3.Due to little interest the Team Xmas lunch has been cancelled , I feel a bit unfaithful as I am going out tomorrow night with my ex- work colleagues which I have been doing for years .I was clear from the get go that I wasn't interested in the Team one as it was about £30 in the middle of the working day and we would have to take flexi for a longer lunch.

    4. Got some nice Xmas cards from some of the Companies that I have worked with this year .

    5. Day off tomorrow.:D

6 .Fish and chips for tea

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

The news on Rummy wasn't what we wanted I'm afraid, Chicken.

It was a check ligament tear, so quite serious, and it's ended his jumping career.

The advice from 2 vets was that it would need a year to recover and jump racing was out.
He isn't fast enough to hold his own on the Flat - and would be racing as a 6 year old by then. So that part of the story is over. We were all gutted, needless to say, but that's life with horses.

His owners have found him a fantastic new home with excellent specialist facilities to aid his recovery, that they couldn't supply. All being well, he will have a future as a sports horse.

Regarding the racing future for the Angrove horses, Rummy's nephew Fatrascal has been earmarked as a Flat horse. He's only 5 months old & with being a July foal (like Rummy himself) it will be possibly 2015 before he appears on a racecourse.

Rummy proved that coloured horses can race on equal terms with full thoroughbreds and has made history by being placed, so he made his mark.

There's a lot of 'what might have been' but he made it to the track three times and so many never even get that far.

    Evening all.

A difficult day for me as it is 3 years today that I lost my mum. Whilst i am not wallowing in a vat of sorrow and pity - she'd bl00dy kill me if I did - one cannot help, and indeed should, but remember. Still there have been more smiles than tears, but time doesn't heal - not really.

    so finding pleasures is important

    1. Listening to "cabin pressure" in the car to and from work. Love that series - R4 ites might know it. John Finnemore is genius
    2. Easy teaching session and an early dart
    3. Lovely sunrise this morning
    4. easy tea from the freezer, it is slowly going down. Probably half full now, except
    5. an evening of cooking to use up veggies that would go off. Broccoli and cheddar soup and autumn vegetable casserole that OH and MIL can have tomorrow. I am off to see dad for the day so have to get up at stupid o'clock.

    Night all xx
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Hugs VJsmum x

    1. Passed my medical phone call for my new job, phew! The lady I spoke to from Ato$ was so lovely and told me on the phone that I was okay to work in the school :)

    2. Popped into school to do another CRB form! My others aren't portable sadly...oh well, got to have a nice chat with people, including a lovely student with a broken leg who was waiting for her dad to come and take her for another new plaster cast. Such funky colours they have, I was quite jealous, was only ever given boring old white ones!

    3. Have offered my 'spare' microwave to my soup-making friend as hers has blown up!

    4. Picked a friend's little boy up from school and took him back to his house and stayed for chats, cuddles with babies and cups of tea - bliss!

    5. Avoided having to go out in the freezing cold to the village shopping extravaganza (yay) as (boo) DD has a nasty cold now and looks like death warmed up. Thankfully she doesn't have a fever, and is snuggled up, yup......in my bed!

    6. Bought the last bits I need for the kitchen fitting stuff (I hope!)

    7. Scrubbed the bathroom - not really a pleasure but I do like it when its all clean and sparkly.

    8. Have put together a big bag of books for the charity box

    9. Finished reading a fantastic crime book set in my local area, my village was even mentioned as in "it took an age to get through xxx high street", I smiled wryly as I face that trial on a daily basis!

    10. My electricity bill came in and I was hugely relieved that my current monthly payment is still more than sufficient, despite a 10 or 12% increase in leccy costs recently :)

    VJsmum - Hugs to you
McColluch - My toothbrush arrived today as well :D

    Pleasures for today,
    1. LSD as used some Luncheon vouchers to pay for the bits I wanted in Waitrose which included a really cheap cooked chicken.:money:
    2. Free very yummy lunch at work as there was plenty left from a meeting. Had chicken and bacon in a maderia and mushroom sauce with new potatoes and vegetables, yum yum
    3. Reassuring chat with Mum on the phone she has a couple of spots on her forehead which has been diagnosed as a form of skin cancer but the specialist is very positive that once removed in the new year will not cause her any more issue. Keeping fingers crossed plus hoping she can go to a more local hospital than Durham hospital where they wanted to do the surgery.
    4. Nice chat with brother on the phone, he knew I would get the full story out of mum so was able to reassure him as well. Plus he is sending me a hairdressers voucher that he won for the chain where I get my hair cut, there isn't one local to them so that will save me £15 in the new year.
    5. Managed to get most things that I needed to get done at work today so other than going into the office for an hour tomorrow I can have the day off:j

Hugs to all who need them, hope all who want to stay snow free and that CCP gets the snow she wants.

Glad your sister is on the mend, McC.

VJ'smum - hope you are OK.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep!

    2) Got the stove going properly. I am so fed up with the 2 tonnes of sodden wood that was delivered. :-( Usually it takes 1 match, a firelighter snapped in 2 and a couple of small logs and the stove will be going then for as long as I need (days on end, sometimes!) But at the moment it is firelighters, starting sticks, screws of paper, damp and sizzly stupid logs.... start again.... sit on the floor by the stove opening the bottom door to let masses of air through, shut the door, fire goes out!

    3) Did my Sinterklaas present (more later).

    4) Accidentally bought minced lamb instead of mince beef yesterday so cooked the whole lot up with onions, breadcrumbs, spices and grated apple and made 2 big meals worth of meat balls. Some for tea tomorrow and the rest in the freezer.

    5) Smaller son had a good day at school (21 out of 21 for behaviour again) and they went by minibus to another local school to do P.E.

    6) His OLD school phoned me. He hasn't been a pupil there since a week before half term. After 2 phone calls from me, a note and my asking in person - they have found his duffel coat! Obviously, it has been missing so long now, he has had a new one. Grrrr. They still haven't found his PE kit, though.

    7) First Christmas card arrived!

    8) Sinterklaas evening at mum and dad's. My person was bigger son so I wrote him a poem and bought him some lights that will attach to the valves of his BMX wheels so they will look like catherine wheels at night. On the box they were hidden in, I made 2 BMX "ramps" from cardboard.

Bigger son had my sister so he bought her a mug to use at school (she's a teacher) and made his box look like a calculator and also wrote a poem. Smaller son had me so I got a box with drawings of chocolate bars on it, a really good poem and a box of fudge inside the big box!

    9) Already in bed - 2 duvets, hot water bottle and will find something good on iplayer in a minute.

Get well now poorlies, hugs to those who want/need

Feeling very unsettled and bah humbug today as it's been an emotional roller coaster week. GDS1 got the decorations down from the loft and all I want to do is throw the lot in the bin :(. Not like me at all and really do not like this feeling. Perhaps I'm just over-tired (sounds like a grouchy child :p) I really hope I get some sleep tonight as I'm out for the day with DD tomorrow. However I have had some pleasures so...

    1. DGD1 and DGS1 came to lunch, the biggest pleasure of my day :)
    2. Was told they want me at DD's for C-word day because it won't be the same without me :)
    3. DGD1 brought some home made mince pies which we had for pudding :)
    4. DGS1 got the deckies out of the loft for me :)
    5. Decorated the banister with a holly garland and lighting, something I do every year and it always brings complements

    Sleep well :)

Hugs sparrer, hope the roller coaster slows down and lets you off so that you can return to your usual chirpiness xx
