    Hi Everyone,

Been moseying for a while now and decided to get my act together.

Put me down for £150 please and lets see how i go :D

This is for me and my OH although i do house share and cook for my house mate too so this might skew things a bit!

Thank you to all MSE for motivating me to get back on the wagon!

    Hi Everyone :)

Didn't manage to keep to Augusts GC, due to a multitude of things (new job, out of routine, weekends away etc)..but I am back back back!

BUT I need some advice PLEASE?

Normally I have kept to a £60-£65 a week budget, but that's before I got my new job ( :) ), and my children received Free School Meals.

Now I am working, my children don't get FSMs, so I thought I'd just add £20 a week to my budget to factor in £2 a day for my oldests lunch (at secondary school) and £10 a week for packed lunch stuff for my youngest (still at Primary School)...But that means I'd be spending £80-£85 a week!
That seems like a LOT of money for food. Although I can now afford it (became debt free and also found a job), I would rather keep as much money as possible rather than give it to a SM!

    Any advice please?

You could probably do the lunches for your youngest for less than £10 a week. What are you buying / will you be buying for the lunch box? Also, how many people are you budgeting for in total? Do you meal plan? :)

    Thanks DK :)

I will be buying an extra loaf of bread, extra ham and extra salad.
Then crisps or pretzels, 2 different types of fruit and a cereal bar type thing.
This will be for 5 days a week.

Other options could be wraps instead of sandwiches and different types of fruit, maybe a yogurt too.

It's for myself, my 13 year old son (he eats a LOT) and my 9 year old osn who eats more than all of us put together :D

Hi I have dipped in and out in the past, but my BF is on board after moving in, we have set a budget of £175.

It is to feed, two grown ups, and a rabbit. I understand this is high, but I want to take it in baby steps...

    Good luck to all...
