Thanks people! I do feel miles better thanks.

Count to pay day is on (Friday). Planning to pay off £300 as the minimum payment to the loan won't go out until the 2nd. This will round it down nicely to £9k and will mean I will have paid off my car that I haven't owned for a year!!!

The next £4k is my student debt from my last time at uni full time. I graduated in 2010 but didn't start my first job until January 2011 so its been sitting around bugging me for over 6 years!

I'm going to smash it hopefully in 6 months or less!!

    Yes! Lets do this!

    Evening all

Just checked the bank balances and husband has been paid some expenses that he has been owed since last year (£296). This has been rounded up to £300 with some of my money and then swiftly transferred to the loan. So it is now down to £9000 and my old car has been paid off!

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Still planning to pay £300 off on Friday meaning we will be in the £8xxxx. Or £8700 to be precise and then it will be £8425 on the 2nd! I should probably then find £25 to round it down nicely to £8400 and then chuck another £250 at it once husbands car stuff has come out budget so hopefully £8150 very soon.

And husband is also owed another £300 of expenses so I might be in the £7xxx very soon which would be amazing!!!!

Visualising it like this is really helping me count it down as it seems like such a large amount to bite away.

    Be gone loan be gone!

    Afternoon diary,

Currently playing a game with my dd called 'yes you are going to have a nap whatever it takes.' Whatever it takes so far is me putting her back to bed at least 10 times already. She is currently still in her bedroom whinging but hasn't come out yet so this is progress. I will succeed. She needs it. She is ill and yawning but being defiant. Grrrrrrr.

Vets trip for the cat cost £10 less than I thought. Checked bank balance and no more expenses paid but hopefully will tomorrow with husbands pay.

I also got vaccination and neutering costs from the vet for the potential dog that hopefully will happen soon. We are still waiting for the !!!!! to come in season. So it won't be April but maybe early Summer. I was going to put some money aside from march and April pay. It I think I shall just charge ahead with debt pay off as we can always do minimum in payments for a few months to cover the costs. When she is pregnant we need to pay a deposit of £100 which is fine and then another £700. Just need to work out the monthly costs now as well.

Husband and I are having some very interesting discussions about our future now we are nearing the end of this debt payment. I've been paying off debt now for so long a lot of the things I wanted to do once it was gone, I'm. It sure I want to do anymore. It's totally changed my view of money.

    This journey that is.

    Morning diary

Thanks seasidegal - it does feel good. Need to pay off that amount a month if we want to get rid by Christmas.

Couple of things I've been thinking about lately....

Haven't used my credit card now for 3 months and I don't even miss it!! I'm forced to pace ourselves over the month.

I'm trying really hard not to wish this year away I can't wait to be debt free - does anyone have any tips or wisdom in this area?

I have t had an alcoholic beverage for 2 weekends and feel soooo much better for it. Might see how long I can go without it at home.

    Hope everyone has lovely weekends
