No. A Ponzi scheme is completely different.
It's just a straightforward scam.0 -
Run guys, just run from these guys. I'm a victim after persistent calls fell for it .....................huge regret, the software is so disappointing, prompts you to buy the "so called" best stock and you eventually lose you money, so what's the point predicting that you buy that stock! Anyways I realised I've been an idiot, called them after trading for 5months that I'll like to pull out, apparently accepted my reasons, emailed me to confirm closure of account within their so-called 30days processing period, it's been 90days or more now, i have called trying to at least see if i can get some money back, apparently the deal sold to me was that if I'm not happy they can buy back the software at a discount price, so I at least get some quids back - ALL LIES!!, calls just drops each time or is permanently engaged, I guess someone has blocked my email, they won't response to my email as well - Lost in total £2995 - SO SAD!
Sorry to hear you were scammed, that sucks but thank you for warning us and anyone else who might read this.
I missed the previous replies to this thread so apologies to the other guys who responded. I chucked the correspondence they sent me ages ago so can't remember the detail but they sent me a glossy brochure which started out by saying that
"Banks make millions on the stock market by using specialised software that can predict rises and falls, and now you can too"
It then goes on to tell you how great it is without really telling you anything about the 'system' or how it works. Big on claims and zero content
I also figured after a bit of searching that the forum posts were fake so wised up, did my own research and decided to do my own thing for better or worse.0 -
It's time to change your phone number. You're on a mugs list.
Quite. Ignore the cold calls that you will be getting shortly telling you that they can help you recover your money (if you pay them £X to cover legal costs).Glen_Clark wrote:That would still be pretty one sided unless they were sharing your losses too.
Exactly my point, which is why people should ask why CWL aren't offering this.0 -
company dissolved 4/4/17 .. big scam0

CWL Quick Trade System – #Rip-off-Briton
I brought this software with the 100% guarantee return, It all seemed fine as the support was good even though I kept losing money. Now my year is up to retrieve a money back guarantee the company is now vanished. John Mathews was very persistent as I told them three time I was not interested, they managed to get me on a good day and now I'm trying to get me money back. If I get the money back I will stop going through the entire world network naming and shaming these below people.
Name and shame – do not buy this software as it just loses your money.

I'm in the same place.
Appeared on the face of it to be a system but clearly just a scam.
As they used a third party card handler for the deposit on a credit card, there is little chance of S75 of the Consumer Credit Act being useful although card companies differ so its worth a try.
I suspect these people will all vanish and do it again under different names.0 -

Me too! In case you are still following this up, or others are interested in doing so, these points may be worth noting:
1. Your contract was probably with Commerce Ware Limited, a UK company which is now in the process of being dissolved for not filing accounts. (I was told there is a connection with a company in Hong Kong of a similar name but this is not verifiable from public records so far as I am aware.)
2. The sole director and shareholder of that company is Chris David Nathan, whose correspondence address has recently been removed from the Companies House website but was previously shown as 3 Cambridge Terrace, Regents Park, London NW1 4JL. He was born in December 1981.
3. CWL Training Limited has been compulsorily dissolved, though I suspect your contract was not with that company.
4. I was sold the software by William Lawrence, who made a number of claims along the lines reported in this thread, most of which I heavily discounted but decided to proceed as a high risk punt. So I only have myself to blame! Well, not entirely as the claims made would never have been permitted in a regulated business, and the lack of transparency in the business and its trading record suggested things might not have been what they should. Perhaps something which the Serious Fraud Office should investigate.
5. Sorry to hear you and others have lost money with the software. I have actually made a very small profit, though this is a long way from the exaggerated claims made by CWL. I found Charlie Davis quite helpful, and probably too junior to be one of the people responsible for the running of the operation.
6. The CWL phone lines went dead around the beginning of June 2017, and the stock data website for which an additional fee was charged went dead around the beginning of August. Up till then it was possible to use the software even without the support. So far as I can discover, free stock data is limited to data on single companies so would take too long to download for 1100 or so companies a day.
So we live and learn. But as our law enforcement authorities and regulators are often slow to act or just pursue the wrong targets (did anyone actually lose money over Barclay's fund raising in 2007/8?) I fully support your naming and shaming programme.0 -
I unfortunately bought this, originally with support I did okay albeit in a rising market
My PC has crashed, to install on another PC I need an activation code which I can't find
Can anyone help.
I would like to use the programme, without any buys or sells to have a further look at it playing around with parameters that can be set
If nothing else it is a monitoring tool identifying where there is movement0
