Whats the verdict on Windows 10? - 4 days in

Those who have upgraded, are you impressed with Windows 10?

Is it worth upgrading from Windows 7?
Anyone downgraded to Win 7/8.1 again?
Any faults or problems being encountered?

I recently bought a new laptop Windows 10 is on it, but still think Windows 7 is better. Less bells and whistles, but functions better.

Interested to hear your thoughts on Windows 10 since upgrading

I've done two machines so far -

HP Envy X2 hybrid, upgraded from 8.1. Machine is now usable to me, after the disaster of 8.1 flip-flopping from Metro to Desktop! The HP Stream 7 mini-tablet will go to 10 when they sort out compressed image upgrades.

HP Elitebook, upgraded from 7 Pro (actually I was using on Insider programme for 10)

Very happy with 10 (access to Store, Cortana, Edge browser, live tiles on Start menu etc.)

I may hold off upgrading my HP 54L NAS from Windows 7, it just sits in the corner so I value the stability.

Next machines are my home-assembled tower PC, running 7 Pro, and the Acer Aspire Revo R3610 running 7 Home.

W10 its the usual story get your drivers sorted before the install .

Me dumped W7 W8.1 and added Classic Shell to Win 10 .

It`s been a lot longer than that for some of us.

As with every new OS there are bugs and changes, either go with it or stagnate.
Windows 10 for me all day long.

So far, rubbish. After sorting the problems? Maybe.

Working well here. So many people don't like change though, and will just complain rather than move on.
And as for the posts with problems, the problems are very real if you have one, but out of the 14 million+ installs, how tiny is the percentage that had them. When all goes well people don't post about it.

I for one like it, and it will get better as more stuff is added in the future. A big update around October time, bringing new features.

Apart from the baffling removal of the basic 'select all' function in 10 Mail (see previous post) I've had no problems at all. Everything works as it should, lappie seems to run faster, the return of the 'start' button is great (especially since I removed the stupid tiles), I like the new task bar, and lets face it, they'd have to have really messed up to make it worse than 8.

I have a dual boot of Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon and Windows 10.
Quite surprised about Windows 10 after the awful Windows 8/8.1. Win 10 seems like a cross between Windows 7 and 8. With a bit of tweaking using Classic Shell Windows 10 is quite easy and very usable. Will still mainly use Mint though for ease of use and safety.

    Generally, appears to work well.

It didn't take long to make the decision to use Classic Shell again.

Spybot seems to cause problems. Had to delete and carry out a deep clean.

Edge seems not to want to remember my customisations. Therefore removed all Edge access icons and will continue to use Chrome.

Yet to test Dragon Naturally Speaking with the new set-up.

Given the amount of spying it does on you it should be called Windows Google Edition.

Looking forward to OpenSUSE 13.3 and Qt5/KDE 5 much more.
