    ~Make upto £10 a day February 2018~ 31st Jan 18 at 9:54 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 126th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make £10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra £10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of £1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to £5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for £10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:
    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly.

    Link to previous thread.

So who wants to kick 2018 into a financially working for you year?

Join this challenge and let's make those bank accounts fat, mortgages paid off, holidays paid off, savings account grow fatter, debts paid off and much much more!!!

Starting the month off as I mean to go on! Just did my grocery shop with a tight budget of £70 per week in mind, but went £35 over! I did fill the freezer though so next week hopefully it can be a much smaller amount. I hope to keep the change for credit card payments! So next weeks budget is less than £35... I hope

    My sales on eBay are doing well... today!!!8217;s payments in diary looks like this;
    £0.55 Nectar card points (£27.99)
£23.32 withdrawn from PayPal / eBay sales
£9.75 withdrawn from PayPal / eBay sales
£19.06 found in an old coat pocket I was about to eBay!
£1.40 more in hubbys pay than expected
£25 withdrawn from PayPal / eBay sales
    £25.16 more eBay sales
£30 Amazon voucher for buying my dads over 50 life insurance online for him

    Feb 1st update =£134.24 / £560

In total not a bad day at all! I filled the car with Deisel today too and hope to make it last 2 weeks of school runs... usually its £80 per week but I am hoping to do £50 per two weeks by restricting the driving and getting shopping etc En route. All money saved will go direct to the credit cards... if I can!

I also started a new thing... which I might regret... I usually look at the credit card and think !!!8220;oh there!!!8217;s £1000 available... so let!!!8217;s pay for the car / music lessons / trips etc on there!!!!8221; Well I decided that scrimping to pay it off needs reward... so every time it gets £200 paid off I am reducing the credit limit by £100 to remove the !!!8220;ability!!!8221; to use it... it was a limit of £16800 in October 2017... today I dropped it to £12250... and it feels good... although we are washing up by hand as the dishwasher died and I don!!!8217;t have enough available credit on the card to buy a replacement!!!

On the plus side washing up liquid is 89p for a month versus dishwasher tablets £20, rinse aid £2, salt £2 and cleaner bottles £4... so I suppose it!!!8217;s a win win... much less plastic waste generated and no more £1 a day running costs on the electric bill... I am looking forward to seeing the long term savings on that one!

    Make £20 / day 2018: Jan £3497.53 / £620 Feb £598.39 / £560

Sorry all for being MIA, just struggling to keep up with going back to work, baby going to nursery (no one tells you how awful that process is...) etc. No idea how I'm going to choose in April when I'm full time again.. trying not to think about that right now.

I'm in again this month for £10 a day. Also need to add on bank interest to get my final totals for Jan.. will do that as soon as I can!

I too am planning on being meaner with food shops. I want to meal plan for next few weeks, then will goto aldi to buy the food we need to make interesting meals, and start using slow cooker more.

That's my plan... let's see how far I get.

I was counting on receiving £600 a month from now until May on top of my salary but that's all gone wrong so need to think of other ways to make some cash. This month I'm going to aim for £25 a day. I've recently started matched betting and I have a few things to sell on Ebay so fingers crossed I can do this!

matched betting is (gambling) where you place a bet on one football team for a match to be played, with one sports company, and then place the same bet with another sports company for the opposing team. This way if done correctly, you will win some money.

That is a really abbreviated version of it and a best case scenario as long as you follow the rules properly.

    so today

I made £50 selling an old smartphone to a colleague at work. It was in pretty good condition and I sold it for less than I bought it for secondhand as she desperately needed a new phone and didn't want to be tied into her current contract for another 2 years.

The look on her face was priceless and I am happy to have earnt some money and to make her happy too.

I pointed out all the flaws on the phone, let her take it home to play with to make sure she was happy with it and she is.

cashed out £3.21 on curious cat (smartphone app)

    51p from qmee

found 10p roadkill in the shop

    total for 1 February £53.82

Hi Can you add me in for £10 a day again - Already off the mark with £10.10 from daily free and Citizen me.
Hoping for a better month from selling as i seem to have accumulated lots of little bits again after my huge charity donation before xmas. Does anyone know where to look for adverts for local table top sales other than facebook as I'm sure there must be something going on but i cant seem to find any?

Wishing you all the best of luck for February x
