What small DFW things will you do this week - w/c 9th October?

Morning all, sorry I went MIA again last week, but we've been given notice on our house and have to be out by the end of November! They've royally messed us around from day 1, so the sooner we're out the better! DH is already arranging viewings for some cheaper (Smaller! ) houses hopefully for this week so we should know where we stand. Just as I thought we were finally settled!
Now on to the DFW stuff!
- Pack up for everyone! Think poor DD is getting fed up of ham sandwiches everyday, but she isn't complaining so I just keep providing! I have soup that my mum gave me and DH has soup from home.
- Weekly shopping after work - STICK TO THE LIST! - Done!
- Washing to be hung out, it's quite windy so hopefully will blow dry! - Done!
- Showered last night so I didn't have to dry my hair
- Brought coffee from home this morning
- Sort some things from the house to put on eBay, the perks of downsizing is I have a lot to sell now - we're even looking at selling the sofa!! We're lucky to have a VERY big living room at the minute, but our 3 & 4 seaters wouldn't fit in any other living room I don't think!
That will do for today - hopefully some good news will come my way soon from one of the PDLs I've complained to!
Happy Monday everyone!
More bad news for me today... We're announcing redundancies tomorrow morning!! So I might be homeless AND jobless!!0 -

Packed lunch for dd made
Tea from planner/stores
Seller coming to pick up something from fleabay, one emptied, one to go
Package up a couple more things that buyers have now paid and walk to post office
Make a cake - might investigate red velvet, not made on before, sounds lovely determined
Lots of work
Some sort of exercise later
Have a look at a few activities we want to do next week. Work out best ways to stay frugal with them
Check banking and updated sheet.
Done most of my list fleabayer messaged me to ask if she could buy one of my other items and collect at same time as item tonight. Done. I gave her a reel of matching cotton as it’s no good to me without the material.
Made red velvet cupcakes, tasted nice but not very red. Not sure what I did wrong, seems like a common problem.
Made another quiche, used my new removable bottom tin remember now why I don’t use them. Contents started leaking despite it looking in tact after blind baking hope some of it is left when it beeps soon
Made bread rolls too for burgers for tea rather than buy, had all the stuff in. Smalls had some as sandwiches for tea.0 -
Many thanks DNMS for starting us off
Welcome bearpearsunto a fab thread, it really keeps you on track.
arc2014 sorry to hear about your housing situation and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that your job is safe.
DawnW I hope everything went okay at the hospital. I do the same with the RM vouchers, i use them as a bonus/treat/for shopping and don't count them in my grocery budget. Mine are currently funding DDs latest stash top up-snack bars and toilet rolls!!!!!!!
Well I'm still coughing and sputtering away but I don't feel to bad in myself. Took things nice and slow today.
Managed to get my bed changed and a wash out and dried-really chuffed with this considering the weather is so changeable.
Checked my banking and finally updated my grocery spends book for October-on track to beat my target
Cat cleaning all done-this took me ages as every time I bent down it caused a coughing fit
Caught up on some messages
Went out for some cat litter and just to get some fresh air. It was good just to get out.
Hopefully tomorrow I will catch up on some paperwork. Not going to do masses just a couple,of,letters but at least I've achieved something.
Most important- continue to rest up. One of my specialists would be amazed, he knows too well I'm a fidget pants!!!!!!
Have a great evening everyone xxDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi everyone
Thanks for the kick off DNMS :A
Gosh you have all been busy bees today!
arc - thinking about you...How unsettling for you. I hope you find somewhere fab to live in no time. I have been both made redundant and made homeless so I know exactly the feeling you are feeling. :grouphug:
More palaver with the bank here - was on a call (on hold for most of it!) for an hour today!! Turns out that it's not going to be back paid as they made a mistake on the docs but if they do back pay it I will need to pay an early termination fee of 3% to get out of the old rate early... Makes sense but their docs are not clear at all (actually specifically state the wrong date about 5 times) but all the faff of calling, speaking to the wrong people, getting wrong info etc... That's another circa 2 hours of my life I won't get back.
Here's me:
- Cheapo porridge brekkie with free milk in work
- Free tea and biccies in work
- Cheapo 85p sandwich lunch
- Washing on quick wash then airer
- Used 8% discount card @ wilko
- Leftovers for tea tonight
Kids - I put the OOD beef in the freezer rather than the bin :rotfl: It looked completely fine - I'm sure we won't die :rotfl:0 -
Fingers crossed for you, Arc, and hope all went well today, Dawn.
I managed a £5 FB sale, when I was explaining how to find the house (it's well hidden away) the woman realised her son worked opposite so I dropped it over and he paid for it! I have interest in another item too.
I set off an hour early to go to my mum's and stopped in two local towns to do a quick whizz round for job ads for Job Spotter and I am now up to £6.33 with another five still waiting for approval. La E, I've never tried approving other people's submissions, is it worth doing?Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

Ours were fab during the summer (mainly fuchsias and petunias -and the odd MS tomato plant, too) and still going strong but I'm looking for ideas of what to do with them over winter. Anyone have any experience? Would love to get them filled with something useful for the winter and spring.
Pansies and violas will do really well, if you do buy them I suggest you visit your local independent garden centre as their plants will be hardened off and better cared for than any bought from the supermarkets which means they will last much longer. I have a feeling we are going to have a pretty hard winter so anything you get would need to be hardy. The other option would be to go for small alpine perennials which will definitely cope with the weather and can later be transferred into the garden.0 -

ha ha just discovered oh's employer made a mistake and paid too much childcare vouchers. But they haven't passed that mistake on to him (vouchers reduced from £243 pcm to £30 as madam is now at school) so that is £213 free money :TDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all :hello: quick list before I’m out of the door.
Check banking, surveys and FPL
Stew in slow cooker, added some pearl barley for extra autumnal-ness
Packed lunches all round using what we have, decided to use tin foil and boxes rather than bags to see if that reduces consumption
Porridge all round for breakfast feee stewed plums on mine
Ordered school photos, didn’t order eldest (they had a join one though) as she only had one about 2 weeks before end of last term and this one isn’t the best. Got online versions so I can print cheaply as Christmas presents
Filled in flu form for smalls so they can have it done at school
Hot drink for commute made with my morning cuppa
Right, must get on some I’m ready when DH gets home in a minute.0
