Delay compensation advice

My wife and I travelled this week with klm on a San Francisco to Glasgow flight via Amsterdam. On the morning of the flight (Tuesday) I got an email cancelling the Amsterdam-Glasgow flight and putting us on an Amsterdam-Manchester then Manchester-Glasgow flight. It meant we arrived in Glasgow at 5.30pm instead of the scheduled 12.40pm of our original flight. Should I claim for this ? And if so, is it only the Amsterdam-Glasgow leg that I claim for. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

What was the reason for the cancellation?
  • Thanks for advice. I'll read the vauban guide. No reason given by KLM in their email or at the check in desk for the cancellation.
