2017 - Spend less, live more

Yes, DS is in year 2. We saw lots of children who were the same age as DS, so I guess it must be the year 2 'thing' that they all do.
We spent £18 on food shopping. We'd run out of basics like bread and milk, so OH popped to Lidl on Saturday evening. He said the shelves were empty so couldn't do a full shop. We only need to worry about dinners until the weekend, so we may get away with minimal spending.0 -
We're onto Shakespeare this year. Back to the Globe I expect. It is a great benefit of living and raising kids in London that so much history is right on their doorstep." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I've booked a second course of laser treatment through Groupon and had a consultation today. It works out to be about £30 a session, which is the same cost as waxing. The clinic is quite far away, but even with petrol/tube fares, it's much cheaper than going direct go the clinic.
As I was in the area, I took a detour to Home Bargains. As the store is quite far away, I always have to stock up when I go, but I only spent £20, which is good for me.
We managed to last the week without visiting the supermarket (other than a pint of milk today, as the milk in the fridge was off). It does mean that the fridge and freezer is empty, so I suspect it will be a big spend this week. The children don't break up for half term for another week, so I will need to plan the food shop for that week, otherwise, well end up spending a fortune.0 -
We are in the same boat with half term, not till the 20th." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

We spent £77 on the food shop today. It's more than we usually spend, but we literally had an empty fridge, having not spent much the past couple of weeks.0

I saved £5.25 today at the 25% off ins Sainsburys, through buying the children some underwear.0

Good luck with your challenge.
I popped into Sainsburys and found some boxer shorts for DS, which were reduced from £8 to £3, so that's another £5 saved.0 -

It's nice to see you, penny. I've missed your updates!!!! I hope you have had a relaxing half term.
I spent £10 today on a grocery top up. We needed bread, eggs and milk. Plus a few items that weren't on the list…0
