Hedge trimmer
I am on the lookout for a new corded hedge trimmer.
I was going to wait until summer is over in the hope of nabbing a bargain but then this came up today

Is it likely to be a case of 2 cheap to be any good ?
Has anyone any experience of Aldi powertools ?

Dunno about Aldi, but I've had a Lidl cordless 'cheapy' for a few years and would buy another (they flog 'Florabest' kit), 3 year warranty looks good.0

To me at £19.99 3 year guarantee it's worth a go.Jane x0 -
I've had a look at Aldi's warranty terms. It seems after 60 days the item would have to be returned to the manufacturer.
I suspect the cost of postage would be a good 3rd the cost of the tool.
On that basis I wouldn't buy it for the 3 year guarantee.I'd maybe buy it because it was cheap though lol0 -
I wonder how much hedge you would cut before it À) blunted or B)diesI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I bought one in the end.Haven't tried it in anger yet.
I look at it this way.My old trimmer was on it's last legs.Certainly wasn't worth spending any money on.This one cost me £20.It'll get used about 4 times a year for about an hour at a time.It should last a few years at that rate hopefully.0 -
Just for interest, there's a "better" one at Lidl next week. Longer blade, more powerful(?) better branch size.
But it is thirty quid, not twenty....0
