Advice on this forum is not to apply for credit during the weekend as the CRA may not be reachable and the application will be referred. So it means someone need to check your application manually.

I applied on a weekday evening and had the we'll contact you message. After about a week I had the contract to sign. 21.9%Apr, the top end, I was thinking it would be a £500 or so limit. (hsbc were one of my defaults albeit about 7 yrs ago). Then card popped through the post with 5.5k limit. Recently declined for tesco foundation card & vanquis, so I would rate HSBC as a relatively easy card to get. Good luck to all those waiting on a reply. Ps a thick a4 envelope in the post should be good news :-)

I don't think HSBC do instant accept for anything? Even my bank account was a 5 day message.

I've tried for a card just for the fun of it. They've never actually lost any money from me so never know what might happen....

Thanks RememberMe, can assume it's probably decline then. Will update post when I know. Hopefully I'll hear on Monday.

I rang up the day after my application and they could tell me I was accepted, so they should definitely be able to tell you the status. Good luck I hope all goes well!

I applied four months ago. Paperwork arrived, sent back, since then nothing. Not overly worried, only applied as the card design looked OK.
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.
