Help! Wax Crayon Crisis

Options
Children have drawn on stone effect fireplace surround with wax crayons. Can anyone suggest a removal tool that won't damage it?

    Its in a groove, basically drawn the wholelength of the groove in various shades v. pretty. What makes it worse is it cost over 2K and its my parents. Not a great start to the year! Please anyone my mother isnt amused...

    I just had the same problem with grouting on a tiled floor.
    The only thing that I found worked, was a bottle of sticky stuff remover and a kitchen towel. Rub the marks until the towel goes into little bits and disintegrates.
    I wouldn't know what else to use apart from the SS remover, sorry.

    I tried vinegar and it did very little.

    Just tried toothpaste, seems to b working but very slowly. Thought Id share the tip anyway it might help someone

    Oh god, its like years old, was bought from a door to door thingy, can't remember the name of the company.
    Do a search for "sticky stuff remover" just found a few places selling the same sort of stuff.

    My stain remover book say to rub gently with a damp cloth dipped in baking soda . Then wipe down with a clean cloth

    ive read in one of my many books to put greaseproof paper over crayon and use a warm iron over the top should loosen

    Sorry, can't help but reminds me of the time my Mum left me (I was 3 at the time!) with Grandad babysitting. Mum returned asking how things had been and Grandad informed her that I'd been as good as gold, really quiet, no bother. Mum was delighted, until she realised the reason why I'd been sooo quiet....

    ...all her ornaments had the hands and feet painted with nail varnish!
