  • I did most of my list of jobs yesterday and have done very little today. Ive never told work of my new bank details as it's all sorted out by the banks when you switch. If your wages are paid into the old account the banks automatically transfer the money into the new account.

I am waiting for my credit card statement due tomorrow online so I can make a payment from savings and transfer the Christmas account money to cover the amount spend on Christmas presents.

It's forecast a rainy day again tomorrow. I've just put puppy out and now she's in bed. DS has gone to work on nights with meatballs from freezer. That's the last of the freezer meals so I will have to do some batch cooking next week. I've got a pork joint for tomorrow which will go in the slow cooker and make pulled pork which we can have for dinner and leftovers for wraps.

  • Good morning ! Its raining this morning and puppy did not hang about out there today :rotfl: shes been fed and played with and gone back to bed. DS is due home in about an hour from night shift and he has just texted to see if I want a mcD breakfast. I've offered to cook a fry up instead to save money so it depends how hungry and tired he is.

I've tried to log into my credit card account to see my statement and the website is down until midnight for essential maintenance bah ! I was hoping to make a payment but it will have to wait until tomorrow now. Nothing much planned for today, will be resting as much as possible. I have taken some chicken breasts out of the freezer for dinner tonight. I'm going to need to price up some breakdown cover as mine ends on 23rd Jan and I need to price up replacement tyres as I do very little mileage they are now 5 years old and the last check on the car reported they were starting to perish. I will get some quotes and then see what the garage say when the car goes for its service on 2nd Feb.

I've been invited up north for an old friends birthday party on 3rd Feb. It would mean driving up on the 3rd (will be too late after the car is serviced on 2nd and Fridays are always awful traffic) and taking a few days off work, maybe driving back on the Monday. Its such a long way and a lot of money (petrol) I am not sure whether I physically feel up to it, but I would really like to go. Decisions, decisions !!

Glad you are resting today. The trip away sounds good if you can afford it. It'll cheer you up after being ill I hope.

Nothing done today apart from one load in dishwasher, am feeling very tired. DS has walked puppy. I've slept for most of the afternoon.

I have checked online banking and my credit card statement is still not showing so I will sort that tomorrow. I have checked the shopping budget and its currently at
    £270.78/£320.

We still have the pork joint to eat up and a pack of mince so that should last a couple of days. We have 2 bags of chicken breasts still in the freezer so I shouldn't need to buy any meat until middle/end of next week. Not sure it will last till payday so may need a small top-up shop. We will need bread and milk which we can get at the coop only 5 minutes away. We have potatoes, veg, rice, pasta, wraps in store cupboard.

  • One load of washing done on economy wash and hung out to dry, the weather is much brighter and dry after a weekend of rain.

I have still been unable to view my credit card statement. I phoned Nationwide and was told it might appear overnight tonight. All I can do is look again tomorrow. Its really annoying when I am waiting to make a payment and sort my money.

I have bought breakdown cover, with 40% off online it was a good deal at £60. I could have got cheaper but couldn't find the same cover for less, with home start, national recovery, onward travel, relief driver (if I am not able to drive) cover if you run out of fuel and if you put in the wrong fuel and recovery if you are stuck in mud or snow or flood.

I am just cooking some pasta to make a pasta bake for freezer meals. We are having fajitas tonight with chicken from the freezer and wraps from store cupboard.

I'm amazed that you did washing and drying today. It felt so cold when I came home!!!!

It's great that you cooked. I hope you are ok.

I hope your bank sorts itself out.

  • It was a lovely sunny morning yesterday SW but it did cloud over in the afternoon.

    Plans for today

    1. ring credit card company as statement still not showing online. Statement was due 21 Jan but online now shows next statement due 21 Feb but next payment due 16 Feb but no statement to view to see how much to pay or balance due !

    2. check size of tyres on car (written on side of existing tyres) to get some prices for replacements

    3. depending on the weather will do more washing on economy wash & hang out

    4. batch cook some chicken breasts

    5. do some ironing, planning on return to work tomorrow so need to iron some work trousers. Not much else gets ironed / needs ironing.

    6. walk puppy this afternoon. This will only be 5 mins to park and back. She will run around for 20 minutes at the park chasing her ball. DS will walk her in the morning before he goes to his volunteer job 2-10pm. I need to get back into doing some exercise so a gentle walk will be a good start.
