New garage roof

Hi,
I've had a quote to replace my double garage roof which contains asbestos. The approximate size is 18ft x 12ft. It's a sloping garage roof and the quote includes removal and disposal of the asbestos. The amount is £3240. Do you think this is about right? Thank you :-)

It’s a little high but if they are using a proper licensed asbestos remover who first remove and dispose of the sheets in preparation for the roofers to start their bit with you getting a signed off consignment note then it’s about right.

Sounds high to me. I just got mine done for 1100 by a local firm not one of these specialist nationwide garage roof replacement companies. Replaced with profile 6 Marley sheets which last 50 years. I tested a bit of the old roof and it wasn’t actually asbestos in the end but this only reduced the price slightly. I’d recommend testing it. Buy a kit online for 30 odd quid. They may be ripping you off on the asbestos disposal which may not even be necessary.
