  • Tizzi and Mrsmoneypenny. I'm also penny saving. I've written out all the amounts for the years and then at the end of the week I empty out my purse and work out the amount into individuals for 7 days, pot the money, and score the amounts off. That way I'm mixing it up all the way through the year and won't have any one month with a HUGE amount to go in and others not. I've done up until Monday just past so far and I need to do it for the rest of the week as I've Ben working in Friday's.
I only do 50p, £1 and £2 coins this way as the smaller coins all go into separate lots for paying into the mortgage at the moment. That's out joint one and this is a personal one for me.

  • Well done to all who are doing the penny-saving challenge. It looks as if you've found some great ways of doing it:T

I had a table at a tabletop sale yesterday. It was only a village hall venue and I wasn't expecting to get rich;). Managed to make £39.20 profit but went mad and bought a cup of tea and 2 cheap paperbacks out of that.

Have kept the notes but there was a lot of small change. I've put a small amount in my Holding Pot as a float for the next one. I didn't have a small-cash float this time as I'd potted it all at the start of this challenge:rotfl: and it was darn inconvenient at the start of the sale when people were offering a fiver for a 40p paperback and expecting change:eek:

Have posted £4.72 into my SP though and am well pleased :j

That's a good way of doing it, as sometimes I don't always have the change I think I might do a chart like that too :) thanks for sharing the idea

  • Hi, I have potted 97p today - it's amazing how some weeks money just fritters away like this week and other weeks you hardly open your purse. Hoping to do better next week :)
Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order :) )
  • £1.41 chucked in after popping to Morrisons on Thursday and then £1.14 after cinema friday.

Keep up the good work everyone!

carbootcrazy I wish we had wee tabletop sales around here but sadly city-centre living means those aren't a thing and all we have are the very expensive car boot sales :(

£1 potted today as per No Spend on Toiletries challenge. Where has Jan gone. Am weirdly excited for this time next week when I empty my tube to bank the contents.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I've had no internet for the last two days.:mad: Supposed to be having someone come on Tuesday to fix it but it's come back on all by itself. :D Don't know how long for though. :(

Belated birthday wishes Helen, hope you had a lovely time.

Sue, hope you're feeling better now. (((Hugs))) to you and DD.

    Potted £2.23 this morning.

    Welcome to any new potters.

    Hugs to all in need.

  • Just potted another £16.50 from my purse after the girls trip to London. There's bound to be some coins lurking in the bottom of my handbag but will leave hunting for them for another day.

    Total of £62.52 now :)
