Easyjet - What is a hold bag?

OK, so easy jet want to charge me 15.00 for '1 hold bag'

I am wondering... Is a hold bag a suitcase that I have to check in? What if I don't want to take a suitcase and I just want to take a very small ruck sack on the plane, will they still charge me?

  • A hold bag is a suitcase going into the planes storage hold. However carry on luggage should be free.

A 'hold bag' is any bag that exceeds the airline size/weight/number for hand luggage. Therefore what you need to is check the airlines website for the maximum hand luggage and then decide if your bag will exceed it. Please remember that airport security can be very strict on the 1 piece of hand luggage so for the girls remember if you take a bag plus a hand bag, make sure there is room in your bag for your hand bag as you go through security.
