Have been given a gift card but trying to use it for theatre events is a nightmare. Being in our seventies we prefer matinees but there are very few at that time and often at destinations far far away from our Norfolk location. Majority of theatres are listed as Ticketmaster theatre or 𝚙artner which can’t be used with a gift card. Tried phoning Ticketmaster on expensive phone number but get sent round in circles by recorded messages and end up being referred back to website.
It seems we will have to forfeit the £50 card as it runs out in January. Can’t believe that such a scheme is so difficult to use. Surely you should be able to select any show and book tickets at a time and destination that suits you. Must be a good money earner for Ticketmaster if everyone has similar problems. So frustrating that a gift given in good faith turns into a rubbish purchase.

You can only book eligible events, it is unfortunate that your preferences are quite limited.
You could sell the card on eBay (be careful who you sell to and how you send it), or you could ask the person that gave the gift if they might use it.0 -

What? That they want to go to something within a reasonable travelling distance and prefer a matinee? That's hardly 'quite limited'...Debt 1/1/17 - Credit Cards £17,280.23; overdrafts £3,777.24
Debt 5/1/18 - Credit Cards £3,188; overdrafts £00 -
More like Ticketmaster has limited options, try looking at their site yourself0

They live in Norfolk. Their options are limited full stop.
You can use gift vouchers on TM Theatre, you just need to call them.
But if OP would rather rant than have solutions, that's their £50 loss.0 -
I find your replies quite limiting.
We have been in touch with ticketmaster but it took 2 weeks for a reply.
Am awaiting a further reply.
A train ride to London is not out of the question either, only 1.5 hrs.
Thought others might have some useful suggestions.0
