Congratulations on getting the house that you wanted:j. I hope you'll be very happy there:beer:

Well done on getting a professional cleaner for such a good price:T. How I'd love a professional cleaner for all sorts of areas in my house. Well, dreams are free, aren't they ?;)

    Thanks lovely x
TBH she's so much cheaper than some but does an excellent job.

I'm so tempted to have her come and do a fortnightly job for me. We've done some ringing around and so far we'll be saving £22 on c tax, £50 on rent, £30 from cancelling sky and changing broadband to a BT vision/broadband combo instead and the water company can't give me a definite amount but say we'll definitely be paying less than we already are. The heating should be less too as we're going from single pane original glass windows to new-ish double glazing.
A sensible person would put all of those savings aside but I'm tempted to have her come and do three hours a fortnight (£37) for me.

    Am I terrible?

£24.60 on Ebay, have listed a middle price item already and will try and round up some more things to sell tonight.

Does anyone know where I can quickly make some money in Amazon vouchers? I had a crazy scheme of buying all the birthday presents for my friends and family for the rest of the year now so that I could focus all my attention on building up my amazon voucher stash for Christmas. And naturally I want to ideally pay for it all in vouchers.

I am about £7.50-£12.50 away from having all I need in Amazon Vouchers to purchase the presents, but the first birthday is in 12 days!

I already do shop&scan, shopprize, job spotter (when it works, I'm having trouble with it now), pinecone and receipt hog.

I was thinking of doing the free cashback things on topcashback as that may allow me to convert it to amazon vouchers but that may not be quick enough.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

How about Opinion Outpost? I find it easy to quickly gain a balance with them and you can cash out when you reach £2.50 worth of points with Amazon I think.

    Evening folks

Fabulous news about the house Nicki. I personally couldn't pay someone else to clean regularly, as I'm too skinflint to pay for anything when I can do it myself, and that will cost nearly £1000 a year.

I'm soo pleased to see the results of your efforts and all the lovely monies rolling in
    :T  :T

I've just £6 to add as cashback from my cc. I 'fess that I've been a bit slack - too much Wimbles - but will be back on it next week with a vengeance :D

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and at least we'll have a Brit win in the mixed doubles

    Ta muchly.
The beauty of each to their own. It's a lot in some ways but the time it could offer me/us would make a big difference. It's something we'll think about down the road, once we move and have assessed the bills.
It might be we go for it, it might be I'm seduced enough by the extra money and the lure of savings, who knows.
Nice to have the option for the first time :)

Some friends of mine had a cleaner who was so 'in demand' because of her efficiency that she had a long waiting list of potential clients. My friends were overjoyed when they eventually reached the top of the list but were very upset to find a note from the lady after her first visit pretty much telling them that she was there to clean not spend so much time tidying up and could they make an effort to tidy stuff away before her next visit:eek:.

They were so worried that she would remove them from her list of clients that they used to spend the whole evening before her visit madly tidying up. They both had demanding jobs and tended to just crash out with the family when they all got home. They weren't the world's tidiest people though (and with a big house and 4 children it couldn't have been easy anyway) but I would have thought it would have been better to teach the children better habits and keep things reasonably tidy as they went along rather than a mad splurge once a week.

I have to say though that once they'd started to employ the cleaning paragon their house was always a pleasure to visit, unlike before when there wasn't a seat you could sit on without moving the 'stuff' piled on it, or a space on a table to place your coffee mug:eek:
