If you are in a scheme and leave it and then decide you want to rejoin, the employer only has to action one request to rejoin every twelve months; a self-defence mechanism to stop employers getting messed about for all the administration when staff keep changing their mind. So there's not a general law that gives you an automatic right to get back in instantly whenever you tell them. It can be up to employer's discretion.

However I'm not sure if that concept extends to someone who opted out during the initial 30 day opt out period - and was treated as if they had never been in, in the first place. Maybe you are supposed to be treated as if you had just become eligible and allowed to join from the beginning of the month after you request it.

Chase it by email or in writing and ask something like "following my earlier request on X date, please can you let me know by what date you expect to have me admitted to the pension scheme - and also could you confirm whether the employer contributions will be backdated to the month of my original request?"

At least then you'll (hopefully) get an answer on what they're going to do (even if there's no contribution this month) and you can ask back here for someone else to tell you if that's how it's supposed to work!
