As Asked by Mercy....will post in my next reply for her to put in recipe section.
Thanks for the welcome Mercy.....!
Delicious! made 2 batches-one savoury for G/F & mine I added low carb frozen berries, cinammon to mix & whipped cream & walnuts! Mine was around 12.5 net carbs (no i have splenda liquid will be less lol!)-had NO affect on ketosis-& i was full of energy for the gym!!
Try them....they can be batch made & frozen....also if cooked a bit thicker-flexible enough to roll up cold as a 'wrap'.0 -
For 2 generous pancakes....! (APPROX 7 INCH-8 INCH PAN)
SWEET CINAMON VERSION
1 egg
2 tbsp ground flax meal-any colour
1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
55 gm full fat cream cheese (Aldo-49p for 250gm!)
2 teaspoons sweetener (I used splenda trype Aldi powder-1 net carb ttl-if you buy the 'liquid sucralose on ebay from the USA -£6-50 delivered-1 drop=2 teaspoons-no carbs to count at all-you can buy on Amazon-£5-68 + delivery-quicker but 1/2 strength & dearer-still save you a fortune on Splenda!)
1 Teaspoon Cinamon-or to taste...or try vanilla esscence, lemon esscence, anything sweet...ultra cheap in Asian stores!
3 tablespoons water
Simples....MIX until all lumps gone (1 min by hand-10 secs in processor!)-LEAVE to thicken for 10 mins.
Add some oil to a 7 or 8 inchis pan. heat on medium low. Spoon in mix-quickly spread to sides-LEAVE for 2 -3 mins-until starts to smell cooked & is brown when lifted-(you'll smell the cinommon!) * buddbles appear & only very middle is still slightly liquid. Flip-1-2 mins more until brown other side. Cover with foil & keep warm in oven or EAT whilst making number 2!
3 net carbs total (didn't count spice as negligable)-including the 2 teaspoons of Splenda!
*****idea! 50gms frozen aldi fruits of the forest mixed berries (3.5 carb), 30 gm chopped walnuts-(3.6 gm carb), lots of whipped dbl cream (1 carb if assuming say 50 ml whipped)...roll in the pancakes! An extra 2/3 tsp splenda-I make that around 12/5/13 gm carb...less if you have liquid splenda or 0 carb sweetener-YUM! Sprinkle with lemon juice (not worth carb counting).
******idea 2! 2 teaspoons no added sugar cocoa (1 carb extra approx-bournville)+ 1/2 tsp vanilla esscence...!
SAVOURY!
As above...I added a tsp value mixed herbs, some hot sauce (no carbs really-tabasco type)-& extra salt (1/2 -3/4 tsp??)...pepper.
2 net carbs as no sugar!
Cook as before.....my G/F had cheese & baked beans & spring onions in it....as LOW CARBERS we could put say homemade chilli & cheese in it, chicken + mayo, tuna & cheese, list goes on.
G/F loved it!!!!! Next time will add fresh chills (love em) & cheese (grated) to mix.
Will deffo make a LOAD & freeze. Savoury could have cheese in them & go with fried bacon for a big breakfast...add mushroom (hardly any carbs-in fact i wouldn't really count it) & say 30-40gms low sugar baken beans-would come in 10-12 net carbs max-for a real 'all day' breakfast!
**********FOR CREPES-maybe make 5-add an extra 2 tbsp water to thin out & flip gently-not tried it but guess it would work??***0 -

Hi all, sorry to post the big recipe list right here but tried to add Debtmonkey's new one and was not allowed to edit to add. Seems to have been closed to me. Probably good to have it nearer but does mean it needs adding in it's new place at the front.
Guns&banjos - any chance of putting the newly posted list on page one of this thread please?
I will add Debtmonkey's new one tomorrow. Quickly flicking through - some of the links don't work anymore but some do. Will work it out soon - I'll go through them and if I have saved one which is lost I'll repost and re-link.
Too late to bother now, but I'm on it :rotfl:

Yes Sweets I went off food altogether (however if I was eating carbs I would have prob been eating). I used to be such a foodie (which may have been the problem!) I was forever reading cookery books, watching food TV, planning which restaurant I was going to visit and now I am just not interested. A couple of foodie friends have suggested I get into low carb cooking but I am not interested to do it. So on Saturday I just ate rubbish (but still low carb rubbish) like mozzarella and nuts. Then I just felt sick. I couldn't face cooking or shopping!
Yesterday was much better though. I still couldn't face breakfast but I had a Mercy's korma from the freezer for lunch and went round to Mum and Dad's for dinner and Dad had especially made me a celeriac dish to have instead of potatoes and it was gorgeous - the roast pork he did was lovely as well. Hopefully I am getting back on the right track today and it helps that two people have commented on my weight loss today :j
I hope you get back to things soon Sweets (however I was jealous of the thought of chips and wine!!) and glad you feel better gunsandbanjos!Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
Well done for those who are losing and commiserations if you are feeling CARP
Mercy and gunsandbanjos - thanks for updating and reposting the recipe list.
4th week with no weight loss and feeling rather fed up. I was not feeling too good last week when trying to go lower than 30 carbs and was snapping at everyone. I have now decided to try another tack so will do the 5:2 for a couple of weeks but increase my carbs on the 5 days to between 60 - 80. Still low carb but I know that going very low triggers thyroid problems for me, which can also slow down metabolism, so who knows??
Have a good week everyone0
